The pre-release/1.19 branch is ready for testing! 🎉
Your feedback is key to catching regressions early and polishing the final release.
Please try the highlights below with your own applications and let us know how it goes.
✨ Highlights in Slint 1.19
📁 Project file — a
slint-project.jsonputs your include paths, library paths, and edition in one place, shared by the compiler and the language server. Point your build at the project directory and check that the live preview uses the same settings.🏷 Editions — set
"edition": "1.19"to opt into fixes that could change existing behavior: elements created withiforforcount toward their parent's size (layouting constraints not respected for items iniforfor#407), and a property set by only some states keeps its default in the others (Default height/width properties not taken in account if they are define in some states only #8852). Try switching your project to the new edition and tell us what breaks.🧊 Backdrop blur — the new
backdrop-blurproperty onRectanglegives a frosted glass effect, with the Skia and FemtoVG renderers.🎞 Animated images — the
Imageelement plays animated GIF, PNG, and WebP.🐢 Reduced motion — animations are skipped when reduced motion is turned on in the system settings (Windows for now).
📜 Scroll into view —
ensure-visible()on any element,Flickable.scroll-to(), andListView.ensure-row-visible().🟨 JavaScript & TypeScript — import
.slintfiles as ES modules with generated TypeScript declarations (npx slint-compiler -f typescript),slint-ui/registerfor Node.js, Deno, and Bun, an esbuild plugin, andFilterModel/SortModel/ReverseModel/Model.map(). (docs).🎨 Figma to Slint — the Figma plugin previews your selection with Slint and exports it as an editable project.
🍎 C++ on the web and iOS — build C++ apps with Emscripten, or for iOS.
…and many more fixes — see the full ChangeLog.
