Release list
v0.7.0
Feature release.
- Hex view fills the window: rows widen with the window in steps of 8 bytes (or whole byte groups), up to 64. View › Bytes per Row › Automatic is the new default; a fixed 8/16/24/32 still works. Go to, Find, bookmarks and Copy follow the visible row width.
- More multi-disk sets recognised: 360 kB single-sided disks stored in 720 kB slots (e.g. 1789 – La Révolution) split into one disk per slot, and each slot is kept whole, including data beyond the filesystem.
- No junk files from raw data: a directory area holding raw game data no longer lists as garbled files on partitions and multi-disk images. DIR art and credits on scene disks are kept.

v0.6.2
Patch release.
- Source files open as text:
.MAC,.ASM,.GEN,.INCand the other assembler, C and Pascal sources open in the Text view instead of Hex, as do M80.PRNlistings. Files with an unknown extension are now checked for text content too, so readmes and data files in English or Japanese (kana and Shift-JIS) open readable straight away. - Real tab stops: tabs in the Text view land on 8-column stops, the M80 / MSX-DOS
TYPEconvention, instead of a fixed four spaces, so assembler sources line up.
Both were reported by a user of v0.6.1. No other user-visible changes.

v0.6.1
Patch release.
- macOS: the running app showed the egui framework's own logo in the Dock instead of the MSX disk icon that Finder and the installer show. eframe was pushing its default icon over the bundle's
icon.icnson the first frame; the app now leaves the icon to the bundle, so macOS masks and themes it like every other app. - Windows: same cause, same fix — the taskbar gets the real icon.
No other changes since v0.6.0.

MSX Media Explorer v0.4.0
Highlights
- Command-line companion (
mediaexplorer-cli) — a headless tool shipped for every platform, with the subcommandsls, add, extract,rm,mv,mkdir, new, bootsectorandconvert(plus single-letter aliases). Built on the same engine as the GUI, for scripting and batch work. - Real MSX-DOS boot sectors — new disks are created with a genuine MSX-DOS 2 boot sector (
VOL_ID+ volume serial, soUNDELand the disk cache work). Thebootsectorcommand installs or upgrades a DOS 1/2 boot sector on an existing image, FIXDISK-style. Boot blocks are ported from openMSX. - Editable
.xsa— compressed images can now be edited in place and are recompressed on save, instead of being read-only. - MSXPLAYer
.savsupport — open, browse and edit the virtual floppies from the MSX MAGAZINE 永久保存版 emulator, and convert to/from them. Format per Meister's analysis (meister68k/MSXPLAYer_sav2dsk). - Open dialog "All files" choice — pick images with an odd or missing extension (format is detected by content), plus a fix for prefix-less raw
.imgdumps.
