PokeRecomp v2.1.3

Choose a tag to compare

@sonsegajp sonsegajp released this 14 Oct 13:36

Download PokeRecomp-v2.1.3-windows.zip, extract it and run Launch PokeRecomp.cmd. Then import your own FireRed, LeafGreen or Emerald ROM. If you're updating from an older version, import your ROM again.

New

  • Chat pip: a short two-note pip plays whenever a chat message arrives.
  • "NAME has joined!": everyone on a world sees when a trainer arrives.
  • Message of the day: each world greets you on arrival, for example "Welcome to Kanto - Official!". Hosts can set their own with welcome in the world settings file. If it's empty, the world greets you by name.

Fixed

  • Game Boy sound channels now behave like the real hardware. This affects ledge jumps, the fainting sound and other short "chip" sound effects. They were checked against the original game running in mGBA and now match it in pitch, timing and loudness, including the low thump of a KO.

PokeRecomp v2.1.2

@sonsegajp sonsegajp released this 13 Oct 20:41

Download PokeRecomp-v2.1.2-windows.zip, extract it and run Launch PokeRecomp.cmd. Then import your own FireRed, LeafGreen or Emerald ROM. If you're updating from an older version, import your ROM again.

Fixed

  • Escape while visiting the other region: Escape (and closing the launcher) now works while you're visiting the other region, for example a FireRed trainer in Hoenn. Before, the game couldn't be closed from the launcher during a trip.

Also includes everything from v2.1.1 (the Alt+Tab keyboard fix) and v2.1.0 (control remapping, shiny news, separate online and offline spots).

Unofficial fan project, not affiliated with Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc. or The Pokémon Company.

PokeRecomp v2.1.1

@sonsegajp sonsegajp released this 13 Oct 20:26

Download PokeRecomp-v2.1.1-windows.zip, extract it and run Launch PokeRecomp.cmd. Then import your own FireRed, LeafGreen or Emerald ROM. If you're updating from an older version, import your ROM again.

Fixed

  • Keyboard stops working after Alt+Tab: fixed. When you came back to the launcher with Alt+Tab, the game could stop getting your key presses, which made it look frozen (for example in a battle or mid-conversation). The keyboard now always returns to the game.

Everything from v2.1.0 is included: control remapping, shiny news, separate online and offline spots, the chat Enter fix and the sound fixes.

Unofficial fan project, not affiliated with Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc. or The Pokémon Company.

PokeRecomp v2.1.0

@sonsegajp sonsegajp released this 13 Oct 18:56

Download PokeRecomp-v2.1.0-windows.zip, extract it and run Launch PokeRecomp.cmd. Then import your own FireRed, LeafGreen or Emerald ROM. If you're updating from v2.0.0, import your ROM again: the games changed, so their content is unpacked fresh.

New

  • Remap your controls. Every button, plus fast-forward, on keyboard and controller:
    • in the launcher, under Options → Control Settings;
    • in game, with F1 or by holding Back + Start.
  • Controllers: any number of them can be plugged in or pulled out while you play.
  • Shiny news: everyone on a world sees a chat line when someone finds or catches a shiny.
  • Separate online and offline spots.
    • Leaving a world, or losing the connection, puts you back where you were playing offline.
    • A save made while on a world loads offline at your offline spot.

Fixed

  • Pressing Enter to send a chat message no longer opens the pause menu.
  • Ledge jumps, the fainting sound and other swept sound effects now sound like the original.
  • FireRed/LeafGreen: TEALA's first-visit Wireless Club speech is gone, since the aide's tour covers it.
  • The "trainers you see are real players" explanation only shows on your first join.

Unofficial fan project, not affiliated with Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc. or The Pokémon Company.

@sonsegajp sonsegajp released this 13 Oct 17:05

Native PC versions of Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen and Emerald, built from the pret decompilations, with a launcher and full online play. Ruby and Sapphire are shown in the launcher but aren't available yet.

Get started:

  1. Download PokeRecomp-v2.0.0-windows.zip, extract it and run Launch PokeRecomp.cmd.
  2. Pick a game and import your own ROM: FireRed (USA 1.0/1.1), LeafGreen (USA 1.0/1.1) or Emerald (USA/Europe).

Needs Windows 10/11, the WebView2 Runtime, .NET Framework 4.7.2 and Python 3.10+.

What's in it

  • Native ports: FireRed, LeafGreen and Emerald, each a DLL that runs off a .pkmn unpacked from your own ROM. No ROMs or game downloads are included.
  • Launcher: game select, PC Boxes, Mystery Gifts and options.
  • Online: in the ONLINE CLUB (Pokémon Center 2F), with a guided tour on your first visit.
    • Official Kanto and Hoenn worlds, plus community worlds.
    • Name tags, chat (T), link battles and trades with legality checks.
    • Wonder Trade, GTS, the POKéMON MARKET, friends and guilds.

  • Host your own world: use the Host … World .bat files. Each world has a settings file: name, max players, welcome message, shiny odds, outbreaks, battle/trade rules.
  • Same speed for everyone: fast-forward is turned off while you're on a server.
