Release v2.1.0-stable
Changelog
[2.1.0] - 2026-05-23
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Added Windows 10 compatibility: Fixed a critical issue where the Analytics Dashboard popup would appear below the taskbar widget on Windows 10 instead of above it. The dashboard now uses the system's available geometry (which excludes the taskbar) to calculate its position, ensuring it always appears in the visible desktop area on both Windows 10 and Windows 11.
🔧 Improvements
- Taskbar-Aware Dashboard Placement: The dashboard now detects the taskbar edge (top, bottom, left, right) and positions itself accordingly, with the slide animation direction matching the taskbar position for a natural feel.
Release v2.0-stable
NetGlance v2.0.0
The first stable 2.x release — a complete transformation from a simple speed meter into a full-featured, macOS-inspired network & system monitoring suite for Windows.
NetGlance v2.0.0 graduates from beta with critical stability fixes for Windows 10, a polished analytics dashboard, and several quality-of-life additions. If you've been using 1.x, this is the definitive upgrade.
✨ What's New in 2.0
📊 System Resource Monitoring
CPU and RAM usage percentages are now displayed directly on the taskbar widget alongside network speed — configurable via the General settings toggle.
🚀 Performance
- 2× Faster Speed Updates — Default polling reduced from 1.0s to 0.5s (
AGGRESSIVEmode) for near-instant readings. - Graceful Degradation — System resource monitoring is isolated from the main monitoring thread, preventing UI stalls on slower hardware.
- Automatic migration of existing users from the old 1.0s "Aggressive" preset to the new 0.5s rate.
🐛 Fixes Since 2.0.0-beta
- Windows 10 Compatibility — Resolved a regression where the analytics dashboard failed to render on Windows 10 due to UI component construction order and focus-tracking issues.
- Auto-Hide Fix — Corrected focus-tracking logic that incorrectly triggered widget auto-hide on Windows 10.
- Build Pipeline — Fixed
VersionInfoVersiondirective causing Inno Setup compilation failures. - I18n Edge Cases — Handled translation failovers within Settings dialog properties.
- Dynamic Unit Scaling — Ensured consistent Kbps↔Mbps scaling across widget, dashboard, and graph views.
- Text Rendering — Corrected text trimming and improper zero-speed formatting bugs.

NetGlance v2.0.0-beta

- System Resource Monitoring: Keep an even closer eye on your PC's health! We've integrated comprehensive CPU and RAM usage statistics right alongside your network speed directly within the taskbar widget.
- About Page & Auto-Updater Check: We've introduced a dedicated About tab in your Settings dialog. Need a quick link to the repository? It’s there! Wondering if you’re on the latest build? Just hit "Check for Updates" and the application will tap into the official GitHub API to let you know if a newer version is ready to install.
