Service wrappers for spring boot application

Just like nexus(a maven proxy). Start nexus use nexus start,then it print little message, and run as a daemon.

I think nexus is just a Java app, so there must be a shell script that puts it in the background. You could write one of those for your app (or if it's for the Boot CLI, maybe you want to add an option to the script - pull requests welcome). Let us know if there's anything you need help with.

@dsyer nexus is a web app with embeded jetty,it's a web app, and it provides a shell script that uses java service wrapper to supply some convenient operation. By the way, there is link to playframework http://www.playframework.com/documentation/2.2.x/Production, that almost what I want. @maksimu supervisorctl is a good choice ,but it has more configuration.

So really you just want a generator for a shell script (so you don't have to execute java -jar ... by hand)? That seems to be all there is to it. I'm pretty sure there are Maven and Gradle plugins out there that can do something like that. We'd be more than happy to help and support the use of those with documentation, samples, or whatever it takes. If you have time to do some research that would be great.

Things like supervisorctl, upstart and monit can also play a valuable role once you have a script in the right form in the right place. An very common and useful tool in the devops world is Foreman which has an "export" feature that writes starter scripts for various systems. Maybe there is something similar in Java build tool chains? Or maybe Foreman is all you need.

The key problem to use java -jar is when terminal close, the app also close. Perhaps the easiest way is nohup java -jar ... &

We used Java Service Wrapper on a recent project and it is working well for us. http://wrapper.tanukisoftware.com/doc/english/introduction.html, although it would be nice if Spring would provide this functionality as a part of it's suite of tools.

I think there are licensing issues with building support for Tanuki stuff into Spring projects. Windows is by far not the majority devops platform as well (though I'd be happy to support it if there was something as good as Tanuki without the license restrictions).
