org.springframework.web.HttpMediaTypeNotSupportedException: Content type 'text/xml;charset=UTF-8' not supported [SPR-7435]

For Ajax post to rest based urls from FF3 getting an exception.

The charset appended to the content type is making this an invalid mediatype.
Earlier was using 3.0.0.RELEASE version.

I saw a similar issue raised here : https://jira.springframework.org/browse/SPR-7135

But upgrading to 3.0.3.RELEASE version did not solve anything.The exception is

Can we have the parseMediaType() before the line 627 in the above class?

MediaType mediaType = MediaType.parseMediaType(s);

As given in the test class https://fisheye.springsource.org/viewrep/spring-framework/trunk/org.springframework.web/src/test/java/org/springframework/http/MediaTypeTests.java?r=3297

Refer line 177 in the test class.

The issue is not related to #11794. What seems to be the problem is that there is no HttpMessageConverter that can handle both 'text/xml' and the @RequestBody parameter type. Possibly because that type is not supported by JAXB.

Can you attach the related controller method?
