It would be handy to have some attributes exposed to JMX for monitoring like:

• Number of active / total connections
• Number of total / per second incoming messages
• Number of total / per second outgoing messages
• Inbound channel task executor
• Outbound channel task executor
• ...

This is now resolved. Note that we don't automatically export to JMX, the application still has to do that, but that last step is pretty straight forward. See the commit message and documentation updates for details.
