Spring Web Services 5.1.0 RC1 Release Notes
For changes in earlier milestones, please refer to:
DefaultWsdl11Definition can now attach a policy document, such as a WS-Policy or WS-SecurityPolicy fragment, to every binding it generates.
Set the policy property to a Resource containing the policy XML, and it is added as-is to each wsdl:binding element in the generated WSDL:
<bean id="orders" class="org.springframework.ws.wsdl.wsdl11.DefaultWsdl11Definition">
<property name="schema" ref="ordersSchema"/>
<property name="portTypeName" value="Orders"/>
<property name="locationUri" value="http://localhost:8080/orders"/>
<property name="policy" value="policies/orders-policy.xml"/>
</bean>This only exposes the policy in the WSDL contract, for example for interoperability with clients that expect security requirements to be declared alongside the binding; it does not enforce the policy against incoming or outgoing messages.
PolicyProvider, a new BindingsProvider in org.springframework.ws.wsdl.wsdl11.provider, is also available for use with ProviderBasedWsdl4jDefinition directly.
Spring Web Services 5.1.0-RC1 moves to new versions of several Spring projects:
Numerous third-party dependencies have also been updated, some of the more noteworthy of which are the following:
