Loopcut 0.2.18 (beta)
Loopcut 0.2.18 beta · 26 October 2026
If you're on 0.2.11 or newer, this installs itself the next time you close Blender. From older versions, click "Restart to update".
New
- A step that freezes Blender stops after 30 seconds. What it changed so far stays, and one Undo removes it. A step that left an object in Edit Mode goes back to Object Mode. You can change the limit in Loopcut's preferences (Stop code after).
- A request that stops making progress ends after 15 minutes and offers Try again. After 2 minutes with nothing new, a short line says Loopcut is still waiting. A chat that was cut off because Blender closed or crashed opens with Try again.
- Loopcut checks that what it says moves really moves. If the last reply says something spins, orbits or flies and it doesn't, Loopcut asks for the animation once, then tells you if it still doesn't move.
- On the free plan, a very long request stops at a step limit and says so, so one request can't use up your credits on its own.
Fixed
- Undo right after a Loopcut step no longer crashes Blender, and one Undo takes out exactly that step. Edit > Undo History names each step.
- Fewer dropped connections. Requests are smaller, a request your network dropped says so plainly, and Stop works at once, even while Loopcut is still waiting for a reply.
- Pressed Stop by mistake? Say "continue" and Loopcut carries on.
- Replies in your language. If Blender's interface is in another language but you write in English, the reply is in English.
- Updated while Blender was open? Loopcut now asks you to restart Blender instead of failing.
- ChatGPT plan: an error from ChatGPT is retried, then shows Try again.
- With your own key, GPT models no longer fill every tool option with placeholder values.
- Step prices show what a step really costs: about 0.2 credits, not "≈1".
- Asset searches use far fewer tokens.
- Cost warnings: one notice per step, and small savings no longer switch your modifiers off.
- Smaller fixes: after framing the camera, Loopcut looks through it; attached images are listed newest first; a second check in one reply says what it measured.
Known issues
- The Mac build isn't notarized yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first open: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
- Windows: if "Windows protected your PC" still appears while our signature builds trust, choose More info > Run anyway.
