Typical Meteorological Year (TMY)

This repository features a prototype code designed to create visual plots of average wind direction over a typical meteorological year, using data sourced from the PVGIS API. It's a straightforward tool for visualizing wind trends, useful for students, hobbyists, and professionals interested in meteorology and renewable energy. Explore how wind patterns unfold throughout the year with our easy-to-understand plots

Quick Start

  1. Clone or download the repository: Obtain the code on your local machine for further actions.
  2. Configure main.py: Modify the script in main.py to specify the desired geographical latitude and longitude for which you want to process the data.
  3. Execute main.py: Run the script to generate and view the wind direction plots based on your specified location. After the execution the plot will be saved under C:\wind_direction_data_plots
