Use rlang::abort and friends

Since we already depend on rlang we should use rlang::abort() instead of stop(), warn() instead of warning(), etc. Among other things, this saves us from having to use call.=FALSE everywhere. @tjmahr I already have this done on a branch so I'm going to push that and close this, but wanted to have an issue for record keeping.
