Release list
mulligan 0.1.0
First release of mulligan, a free, open-source command line tool that gives coding agents an undo.
- A snapshot at every prompt, tool call and end of turn, through hooks for Codex CLI, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Cursor's agent, Copilot CLI, Qwen Code and Pi.
mulligan setup <agent>prints the config to add. - Any other agent works through
mulligan run -- <agent>, which snapshots whenever files change while it runs, ormulligan watchin another terminal. Aider included. - Catches changes made by shell commands, formatters and generators, not just the agent's own edits, because snapshots are of the files themselves.
list, diff, undo, redoandrestore: see the timeline, compare any two points, go back to any of them, or put back one file or folder.- Undo is undoable. Every restore takes a snapshot first, and changes nothing if it can't.
- Never touches your repository. Snapshots live in a separate git repository in
~/.local/share/mulligan. Your history, index, stash, config and hooks are never read or written. - Never loses a file. It only replaces or removes what it can put back. Ignored files, files over 10 MB and nested repositories are left alone.
- Small and private: one binary for macOS and Linux, git as its only requirement, no network access, no telemetry. Snapshots are capped at 500, 30 days and 2 GB per project.
Hooks for more agents, a Homebrew tap and Windows support are on the roadmap.
