v2.14.1
This release fixes the label of the curly brackets drawn by na.plt.brace_vertical, and the arrows na.plt.annotate drew without being asked for (#268).
The label of a curly bracket
na.plt.brace_vertical separated its label from the tip of the bracket with two spaces. TeX discards spaces at the ends of a label, so with text.usetex the label touched the bracket. The label is now offset from the tip by half its font size, the same with or without TeX.
A bracket without a label, label=None (the default), was drawn with the text "None" beside it. Now it has no label.
Arrows in annotations
na.plt.annotate replaced arrowprops=None with an empty dict, and matplotlib draws an arrow for any arrowprops other than None. So every annotation had an arrow from its text to its point. As in matplotlib, arrowprops=None now draws no arrow.
Behavior changes:
- An annotation without
arrowpropsno longer has an arrow. Passarrowprops=dict()for the arrow drawn before, or another style such asarrowprops=dict(arrowstyle="->"), as the examples in the docstring now do. - Without TeX, the label of a bracket moves a little: the gap was two spaces, 0.4 to 0.6 of the font size in matplotlib's default font depending on the label, and is now 0.5.
