Super Linux Utility 2.0.1
Ecco la changelog completa aggiornata:
Super Linux Utility v2.0.1 — Full Changelog
New Sections
Benchmark (Advanced build only)
Full system benchmark suite with 4 tabs: CPU, GPU, Disk, and Network. CPU benchmark stresses all cores and measures single/multi-thread performance. GPU benchmark tests OpenGL rendering via offscreen framebuffer. Disk benchmark measures sequential read/write with configurable block sizes. Network benchmark performs a complete Ookla Speedtest protocol test (download, upload, ping, jitter, DNS resolution) with real-time server selection based on geographic proximity. Includes a composite score system and optimization suggestions. Available only in Advanced build (requires license activation).
Repositories (Standard + Advanced)
Centralized package repository manager for all supported distributions (Ubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint, Fedora, Arch, Manjaro, EndeavourOS, and more). Allows users to view, toggle, edit, and restore official distribution repositories. Restores default .sources, .list, .repo, and pacman.conf files with correct official repository URLs. Automatically updates package manager cache after restoration. Useful when repositories have been modified or broken by third-party scripts. Available in both Standard and Advanced builds.
Tweaks (Standard + Advanced)
System optimization panel with two tools: Swap management (create, resize, remove swap files/zram with automatic priority configuration) and DaVinci Resolve dependency installer (installs all required libraries and configures the system for video editing). Available in both Standard and Advanced builds.
Network Benchmark — Complete Rewrite
- Fixed download/upload values being swapped:
_uploadSpeedTest()was assigned to download display and vice versa due to an incorrect comment claiming "Ookla upload = real download" - Fixed download underestimation: Only 10 static URLs were launched once; on fast connections all finished in <1s leaving 9s idle. Now uses continuous producer pattern that re-launches requests throughout the entire test window
- Fixed upload overestimation:
totalByteswas counted at local buffer-write time (~0ms) BEFORErequest.close()sent data over the network. Bytes are now counted ONLY afterresponse.drain()confirms server received them - Fixed download byte loss:
if (stopped) breakinsideawait forlost in-flight bytes from the current chunk. Now lets each response complete naturally - Fixed elapsed time measurement: Stopwatch now uses fixed
testLengthfrom config instead of total wall-clock time including post-test drain - Fixed excessive thread count: Download used
sc_threadcount * 2 = 72threads causing connection overhead. Capped at 16 - Pre-generated upload payloads: Avoids GC pressure from re-allocating
utf8.encode()on every upload - Added no-cache headers:
Pragma: no-cache+Cache-Control: no-cache, no-storeto prevent cached responses - Added shared config/servers: Ookla config, server list, and best server are fetched once and shared between download and upload tests (6 fewer HTTP round-trips)
- Fixed misleading reference texts: Removed incorrect "Multi-stream 6/3 connessioni (15s)" descriptions
- Fixed crash from
unawaited(Future(() => asyncFn())): Replaced with standardactiveFutures.add()+Future.wait()pattern - Fixed upload sublist crash:
allSizes.sublist(ratio - 1)could throw RangeError if config returned unexpected ratio value. Now clamped
System Monitor — Processes Tab Gauge Charts
- Added
CircularGaugewidget (custom donut chart with percentage center) - Added CPU, RAM, and GPU (conditional) circular gauges in a right-side panel inside the Processes tab
- Layout: Row with process table (left, flex 3) + gauge panel (right, 220px fixed)
- Gauges refresh automatically every 5 seconds via existing system monitor timer
System Recovery — WiFi Auto-Suspend Fix (Advanced only)
- New
fixWifiAutoSuspend()method in RecoveryService - Creates udev rule at
/etc/udev/rules.d/99-wifi-disable-autosuspend.rulesto disable USB autosuspend for all USB devices - Configures NetworkManager with
wifi.powersave = 2(disabled) for internal WiFi cards - Reloads udev rules and restarts NetworkManager to apply changes immediately
- Applies changes at runtime to already-connected USB devices via
/sys/bus/usb/devices/ - Visible only in Advanced build via
isAdvancedBuildcheck - Localized in 6 languages (EN, IT, FR, ES, DE, PT)

Super Linux Utility 1.9.0
Changes Summary — v1.9.0
- CPU Core Detection Fix (lib/services/system_monitor.dart)
Bug: nproc was used to count CPU cores, but nproc returns logical threads (16 for a Ryzen 7 5700G). This was then multiplied by threads-per-core (2), yielding 32 threads instead of the correct 16 threads / 8 cores.
Fix: Physical cores are now read from lscpu via Core(s) per socket × Socket(s). nproc is used only for thread count. For a Ryzen 7 5700G, the app now correctly shows 8 cores / 16 threads.
- Chart Not Showing for Root/Filesystem (lib/screens/disk_analyzer_screen.dart)
Bug: When selecting a base path (e.g. / or a mounted disk), the disk usage chart was populated only from ls-sized entries (4096 bytes per directory), making it effectively empty. The _getTopDirectories method (which runs du) was never called for the base path.
Fix: Added _loadDirectorySizesAsync method that:
Runs du -h -d1 -x with progressive timeout (normal → sudo) streaming partial results
Caches results via DiskCacheService
Updates _selectBasePath and _selectExternalDisk to trigger _loadDirectorySizesAsync after loading the file listing
3. Chart Label Alignment (lib/screens/disk_analyzer_screen.dart)
Bug: Size labels were rendered inside narrow bars (white text, unreadable) or outside bars (inconsistent position), causing misalignment across rows.
Fix: All size labels now render in a fixed-width 64px column to the right of every bar, keeping labels perfectly aligned on the same vertical axis regardless of bar width.
-
Chart Text Bold & Uniform (lib/screens/disk_analyzer_screen.dart)
All text in the chart widget (directory names, axis values, bar labels) now uses FontWeight.bold for consistent rendering. -
Version Bump — 1.8.6 → 1.9.0
Updated version across 7 files: pubspec.yaml, build_deb.sh, build_rpm.sh, and info_screen.dart in both the main and publish_github directories.
For Arch distributions (Cachyos, Endeavour Os and similars) from terminal do this command:
sudo pacman -U super-linux-utility-1.9.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
