Tarn v0.0.9 — experimental Linux x86_64 / ARM64
Highlights
- Static C callbacks for directly named Tarn functions, plus explicit unsafe scalar pointer reads and writes.
- Reject unsafe/foreign function conversions that erase the unsafe call requirement.
- Correct language, grammar, ownership, stdlib and CLI documentation; refresh CLI help for existing program arguments, benchmarks and diagnostic commands.
- Add an opt-in manual build-only release mode; normal validation remains enabled by default.
Source: commit 78c38fdfcca39462a0aa573bb2e9623f685b9c62 on release/0.0.9. PR #27 remains pending protected-main checks; the release does not bypass those merge requirements.
Validation: unit, regression, installer and container smoke test suites were intentionally skipped at the user's request. Native binaries were compiled for both supported architectures and release assets retain checksum verification.

Tarn v0.0.7 — experimental Linux x86_64
Experimental Linux x86_64 toolchain (glibc 2.35 or newer).
Fixed
- Force HTTP/1.1 ALPN for connect-only TLS streams. This fixes WebSocket upgrades against servers that also offer HTTP/2, including the connection failure observed by the Orvix voice agent. One-shot HTTPS requests are unchanged.
- Extend the local WebSocket integration fixture to prefer h2 and assert that the client negotiates http/1.1. This regression fails with Tarn 0.0.6 and passes with 0.0.7 without an API key or public endpoint.
Validation
- Full locked release workspace test suite passed with
TARN_VERIFY_CODEGEN=1(320 tests). - Release compiler and LSP built; installer, update, uninstall, existing-file protection and corruption rejection checks passed.
Builder image
ghcr.io/tarn-lng/tarn:0.0.7 (Linux amd64), published and smoke-tested by the release workflow.
The standard library and native runtime are embedded in the compiler. Rebuild applications with 0.0.7 to pick up this TLS fix.

Tarn v0.0.6 — experimental Linux x86_64
Experimental Tarn toolchain for Linux x86_64, including the compiler/CLI, embedded standard library and language server.
Added
- Checked string interpolation with
f"..."andcore.Display. Interpolations accept names and field paths and borrow their values. Integer types, bool and string implement Display; floating-point values still require explicit conversion. - Conditional interface implementations using bounds on impl binders, with diagnostics explaining unsatisfied implementation bounds in text and JSON output.
- Public
encodingAPIs for Base64 encoding, strict size-bounded Base64 decoding and hexadecimal encoding. - Public
crypto.sha256, returning a fixed-size 32-byte digest. - Explicit file and directory creation modes, allowing private permissions to be set at creation time; existing creation defaults are unchanged.
Migration from v0.0.5
string.Buildermoved into the core prelude: useBuilderandBuilder.new().- Replace
builder.push_f64(value)withstring.push_f64(&mut builder, value). Builder.push_rangenow takes(text, start, end)instead of astring.Range.
Installation
Download install.sh and run:
sh install.sh --version 0.0.6The installer verifies the archive against SHA256SUMS. It installs tarn and tarn-lsp in ~/.local/bin by default. Native compilation requires a C compiler and libc development headers. Existing unmanaged or modified binaries require an explicit --force to replace.
This remains an experimental prerelease, supported on Linux x86_64 only.
