osu!flow v3.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Oct 00:03

osu!flow 3.3.0: search several categories at once.

What's new

  • Tick more than one category under Show. Ranked, loved, qualified, pending, WIP and graveyard can be on in any combination, and one search covers all of them. The menu stays open while you tick, the button says what is on ("Ranked, Loved", or "3 selected"), and Space and Enter tick the highlighted entry from the keyboard. The last ticked category can't be unticked, so a search always asks for something.
  • Your saved choice from an earlier version still loads (a single category becomes a list of one).

Everything else is as in 3.2.0.

Install

Download osu.flow_3.3.0_x64-setup.exe below and run it. It installs for your user only (no administrator rights) and adds a Start menu entry.

The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may say it protects your PC: choose More info, then Run anyway.

osu!flow v3.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 27 Oct 22:14

osu!flow 3.2.0: a plainer look.

What's changed

  • One flat accent colour. The pink-to-violet gradient is gone from the whole app, including the app icon and the logo: the icon is now a flat ring and dot on a neutral tile. Dark surfaces are neutral greys instead of purple-tinted.
  • Far fewer effects in the overlay. Maps no longer fade in one after another or lift when the pointer is over them, covers don't zoom, buttons don't squash when pressed, the search box no longer draws an animated underline, and the glow shadows and loading shimmer are gone. What remains is functional: the loading bar and spinner, menus opening, and the filter panel growing.

Nothing about how the app works has changed since 3.1.1: the same search, filters, always-visible sliders, hover-then-Enter downloading and download engine.

Install

Download osu.flow_3.2.0_x64-setup.exe below and run it. It installs for your user only (no administrator rights) and adds a Start menu entry.

osu!flow v3.1.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 25 Oct 07:53

osu!flow 3.1.1: the range sliders are always there.

What's changed

  • All seven sliders are always in view. The blue Stars, AR, CS, OD, HP, BPM and Length buttons that opened sliders one by one are gone. Instead, the bottom of the Filters panel permanently shows a two-handle slider for each of them under a "Ranges" label, four across and then three, in a grid that never changes. Nothing pops in, leaves gaps or moves when you use one.
  • You can see what is narrowing the results. A slider you are using turns blue and shows its range; the small × beside it clears just that slider, and Reset filters clears everything. A handle resting on the very end of a slider still means no limit.
  • Dragging, clicking the track to move the nearer handle, the arrow keys, remembering your choices, and combining with the difficulty chips and typed conditions all work as before.

Everything else from 3.1.0 is unchanged: the redesigned top bar, hover-then-Enter downloading, the search syntax, and the download engine.

Install

Download osu.flow_3.1.1_x64-setup.exe below and run it. It installs for your user only (no administrator rights) and adds a Start menu entry.

osu!flow v3.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 25 Oct 06:43

osu!flow 3.1.0: a redesigned search bar and filters, sliders you open on demand, and download-by-hover.

What's new

  • A modern top bar. The game mode is a segmented switch whose highlight glides to your choice. Show and Sort are Windows 11 style drop-downs: the name and your choice on one button, a flyout list with the current choice marked, and full keyboard control (arrows, Home, End, Enter, Esc, or just type a letter). The search box draws an accent line along its bottom edge when you click in.
  • A cleaner, more compact Filters panel that opens and closes with a smooth height animation. Genre, language and the rest sit in tidy rows, and the settings of your last session are remembered.
  • Sliders for stars, AR, CS, OD, HP, BPM and length. These options are blue in the panel: click one and it expands into a two-handle slider. Every open slider lives in one fixed area at the bottom of the panel, each in its own place, so opening or closing one never moves anything else. Drag either end, click the track to move the nearer end, or use the arrow keys; a handle at the very end of a slider means no limit. Results narrow as you drag, the setting shows on the option itself, and the value above a slider clears it.
  • Hover and press Enter. Rest the pointer (or a pen, on a tablet) over a map and press Enter to download it, or Space to preview it. No click needed. It acts on the map under the pointer once the pointer has moved since your last key press, so typing a search and pressing Enter never downloads whatever happens to sit under the cursor, and a held key downloads once. A small floating hint shows the keys without moving anything.
  • Windows 11 polish throughout: settings rows are cards like the Windows Settings app, keyboard focus is a crisp accent ring, corner radii match everywhere, and the new animations respect Windows' reduced-motion setting.

Good to know

  • The beatmap mirrors can't filter by any of this themselves, so sliders and filters trim the results already fetched. For a rare combination osu!flow fetches a few more pages and then offers Keep searching. While you drag a slider it never asks for more than a few extra pages.
  • The sliders combine with the difficulty chips and with conditions typed in the search box (stars>5, keys=4, mapper=name), and all of them must hold on the same difficulty of a map.
  • Downloading and importing work as before; nothing in the download engine changed in this release.

Install

Download osu.flow_3.1.0_x64-setup.exe below and run it. It installs for your user only (no administrator rights) and adds a Start menu entry.

osu!flow v0.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 25 Oct 05:39

osu!flow 0.3.0: search like osu!, and snappier.

What's new

  • The osu! website's and osu!lazer's search conditions work in the search box: stars>5, ar<=9.5, cs, od, hp, bpm=180..200, length<3m (also 90, 1.5h or 3:30), keys=4 for mania, and mapper=name, artist=name or title=name (quote names with spaces). >, >=, < and <= compare, = matches about that value, and a..b is a range. Several conditions must all hold on the same difficulty, as in the game.
  • Conditions show as chips under the box: click one to remove it. Anything unreadable gets a short note instead of silently searching for it. The Filters panel has examples to click.
  • Editing a condition is instant. Only the other words go to the mirror, so changing stars>5 to stars>6 narrows the results at once without a new search.
  • Snappier results. Cards used to take up to about 650 ms to finish appearing; now it is about half that, the search card opens faster, and the pause before a typed search is sent is shorter. Going back to a search you just made (backspacing, or switching category and back) shows it immediately.
  • A cleaner icon: one gradient ring and dot on a flat tile, readable down to 16 px in the tray.

Good to know

  • The beatmap mirrors can't filter by any of this themselves, so conditions trim the results already fetched. For a rare one osu!flow fetches a few more pages and then offers Keep searching.
  • Downloads were already close to the network's limit (a 12 MB set takes about a second from the preferred mirror, which doesn't support splitting a file across connections), so there is no new download engine. The one change: the hand-off notices sooner when a virus scanner lets go of a freshly downloaded file.

Install

Download osu.flow_0.3.0_x64-setup.exe below and run it. It installs for your user only (no administrator rights) and adds a Start menu entry.

osu!flow v0.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 25 Oct 04:43

osu!flow 0.2.0: browse like the osu! website.

What's new

  • A Filters panel laid out like the osu! website's: difficulty (Easy to Expert+), genre, language, has video, has storyboard, featured artists, spotlighted maps, hide installed, and explicit content (hidden by default, as on the website). A badge on the button shows how many are on, and a filter applies instantly.
  • A list layout, now the default: wide rows with a small cover, the title, artist and mapper, difficulty dots and the star range. The card layout is one click away.
  • Featured Artist and video marks on covers, and a WIP category next to ranked, loved, qualified, pending and graveyard.
  • Your choices are remembered: layout, category, sort, filters, and whether the panel is open. What you typed is not.

Good to know

  • The beatmap mirrors can't filter by any of this themselves, so the filters trim the results already fetched. For a rare combination osu!flow fetches a few more pages and then offers Keep searching.
  • Filters that need an osu! account (rank achieved, played, favourites, subscribed mappers, recommended difficulty) aren't possible here, and the mirrors don't offer a Rating sort.

Install

Download osu.flow_0.2.0_x64-setup.exe below and run it. It installs for your user only (no administrator rights) and adds a Start menu entry.

osu!flow v0.1.2

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 24 Oct 06:29

osu!flow 0.1.2: a lighter footprint in the background.

What's new

  • osu!flow now runs as 6 processes instead of 7, and uses a little less memory while it waits in the tray (about 10 to 30 MB less). Nothing else changed: searching, sorting, downloads and the settings window work as in 0.1.1.

Install

osu!flow v0.1.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 24 Oct 05:49

osu!flow 0.1.1: much better search.

What's new

  • Ten sort orders, each ascending or descending: ranked date, last updated, submitted, plays, favourites, stars, BPM, length, title and artist. A button beside the menu says which way it runs ("Newest first", "Hardest first", "A to Z") and reverses it.
  • A Stars filter for osu!'s difficulty bands, Easy to Expert+.
  • Paste an osu! beatmap link or ID into the search box to jump straight to that map.
  • Labelled filters (Status, Sort, Stars), a clear button in the search box, and a helpful empty result with a Reset filters button.
  • Cards show the star range and the mapper, with shorter cover strips so more fit on screen. Covers download about three times smaller.
  • A clear message when the beatmap mirrors can't be reached, and a one-line key hint while a card is selected.
  • The settings window shows the version.
