Oma Pulse v0.7.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 30 Sep 17:34

Fixes a Todoist sync hang that could leave task checkboxes disabled and make checking off tasks appear to do nothing.

  • The helper now reads each complete JSON-line request immediately instead of waiting for its input stream to close.
  • Todoist operations have a 90-second limit. A timed-out operation releases the busy state and shows a message to refresh and retry.
  • Added a regression test that leaves stdin open and verifies the helper responds. Verified a checkbox click and task removal in an isolated workspace, plus normal synchronization with the installed Todoist connection.

No existing user tasks were completed during testing. Existing accounts, notes and task data are preserved.

Update

omarchy plugin update kosta.omaowl
omarchy restart shell

Restarting the shell clears an already-stuck helper process.

Oma Pulse v0.7.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 30 Sep 12:03

Oma Pulse now lets you choose your mail, calendar, and task providers from a new Connections screen. Choices are remembered across restarts, and switching preserves existing accounts and local tasks.

What’s new

  • Mail choices: HEY, Gmail, Outlook, generic IMAP, or Off. Gmail and Outlook show unread inbox previews with Mark read and Undo. IMAP supports TLS connections with an app password, unread sender/subject headers, and verified read/undo actions.
  • Calendar choices: OmaCal, direct Google Calendar, or Off. Google Calendar shows eight days from a selected calendar, including recurring, all-day, and multi-day events, using the calendar’s timezone.
  • Task choices: Local or Todoist, with a clearer selector and setup entry point. Assistant task commands now respect the selected source, including local tasks.
  • Weekday names: Calendar headings now show the full weekday above the date in compact and full-screen views.
  • Setup guidance: Added a connection setup guide and updated the website to explain the available providers and their requirements.

Connection requirements

The new Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, and IMAP integrations are beta. Automated protocol and UI checks pass; live-account verification still requires configured accounts.

  • Google and Microsoft connections require your own OAuth app registration. A shared, zero-setup OAuth registration is not included.
  • IMAP requires a provider that permits password/app-password access over TLS (usually port 993). OAuth-only accounts should use the direct Gmail or Outlook connection. An optional webmail URL opens the full inbox; IMAP does not provide browser links to individual messages.
  • Existing HEY, Todoist, and OmaCal integrations remain available. Your saved accounts, notes, and local tasks are preserved.

Update

omarchy plugin update kosta.omaowl
omarchy restart shell

The original plugin ID stays the same to preserve existing settings and data. Open Connections in the app to choose providers.

Oma Owl is now Oma Pulse.

Website · Setup guide

  • New name and pulse icon throughout the desktop app, command bar and website.
  • New omapulse command and application-menu launcher. Existing omaowl commands, shortcuts, accounts, notes and plugin placement remain compatible.
  • Interactive HEY email preview: open sample messages, mark them read and Undo, with responsive desktop and mobile layouts.
  • Kosta Hantzis’s X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and Mentorpass links in the shared footer on the main and 404 pages.
  • The old website redirects to the new address; the renamed GitHub repository preserves its history.

Install

curl -fsSL https://oma-pulse.vercel.app/install.sh | bash

Update an existing installation

omarchy plugin update kosta.omaowl
bash ~/.config/omarchy/plugins/kosta.omaowl/scripts/install-desktop.sh
omarchy restart shell

The internal plugin ID and data paths intentionally stay unchanged. The desktop installer replaces the old app-menu entry with Oma Pulse and backs up the old entry.

The attached source archive and checksum were generated by the passing release workflow. Optional service integrations are installed separately.
