Where are the configurations saved to

The Settings I can do in the GUI are saved somewhere?! Couldn't find any config file up to now. Just wondered if there is any and if the sona.exe complies with those settings too? i.e. when calling sona.exe serve.

Yes, but Vibe 3.0.19 splits its settings between two stores rather than putting everything in one config file.

• Most GUI preferences, including the selected model, language/Whisper options, theme, output format, and recording settings, are prefs_* keys in the Tauri webview's localStorage. Its on-disk backing store belongs to WebView2/WebKit, so it is not a supported human-editable config file.
• A few native settings (models_folder, analytics, and the log toggle) use app_config.json. Tauri's store plugin places that in the app data directory. With Vibe's identifier github.com.thewh1teagle.vibe, the usual locations are:
  • Windows: %APPDATA%\github.com.thewh1teagle.vibe\app_config.json
  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/github.com.thewh1teagle.vibe/app_config.json
  • Linux: $XDG_DATA_HOME/github.com.thewh1teagle.vibe/app_config.json, falling back to ~/.local/share/github.com.thewh1teagle.vibe/app_config.json

sona.exe serve does not read either Vibe store. Vibe starts Sona as sona serve --port 0, then explicitly loads the selected model/GPU through /v1/models/load and sends language, prompt, thread count, temperature, beam settings, etc. as fields on each transcription request.

For the Sona 0.2.1 bundled with 3.0.19, a standalone server can load a model at startup:

sona.exe serve "C:\Models\ggml-large-v3-turbo.bin" --host 127.0.0.1 --port 8080

The serve command itself only has --host, --port, and --exit-with-parent; transcription options must be supplied by the API client on each /v1/audio/transcriptions request. Alternatively, sona.exe transcribe --help shows the equivalent one-shot CLI flags. Changing app_config.json will therefore not configure a separately launched Sona server.

Settings live in app_config.json in the app's data folder: %LOCALAPPDATA%\github.com.thewh1teagle.vibe\ on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/github.com.thewh1teagle.vibe/ on macOS, ~/.local/share/github.com.thewh1teagle.vibe/ on Linux. The file is plain JSON with readable keys and can be edited while the app is closed. Models are stored beside it.
