GlassTube v1.0.0
The first public release of GlassTube — YouTube, reimagined for the big screen with an Apple TV–inspired Liquid Glass interface.
Highlights
- Top Shelf home with a rotating hero (Calm or Artwork background), sideways shelves, parallax focus tilt and remote-style arrow-key navigation.
- Cinematic watch page with tvOS glass player controls, storyboard scrub previews, Up Next, comments and Shorts shelves.
- Picture in Picture in a floating window with glass controls.
- Every page redesigned — channels, playlists (incl. Watch Later and Liked), Subscriptions, History, You, search, hashtags, hubs — plus cinematic Shorts.
- Full-screen search with live results and recent searches.
- Live settings for every feature, Reduce Transparency and per-page Classic View.
- A complete user manual.
Changed
- New logo — a Liquid Glass screen on a lavender field, drawn as vector art with a 4096 px master and a simplified mark for 16–32 px toolbar sizes.
- The release pipeline now produces store-compliant assets: five opaque 1280×800 screenshots, 440×280 and 1400×560 promo tiles with the new logo, the 128 px store icon and 4K logo masters — all only inside the git-ignored
chrome/v1.0.0/bundle. - GitHub Releases carry release notes only; the extension zip is produced solely for the Chrome Web Store, and CI no longer uploads it.
- Store screenshots feature the official Formula 1 YouTube channel.
Fixed
- Cards from a channel's own pages (Videos tab, channel shelves) showed the view count in place of the channel name.
