Frameshell 0.4.0
Highlights
- Live preview of generated clips: while a HyperFrames or Remotion clip is still rendering, the preview plays its composition live in place of the "rendering" slate, seeked to the playhead (frame-exact while paused). Edit the composition or its props and the preview reloads at once; the finished render takes over when it is ready. See ADR 0010.
frameshellin any terminal: File → Install 'frameshell' Command in PATH (macOS/usr/local/bin, Windows user PATH). On Linux the.debnow installs/usr/bin/frameshellitself; before, it started the app instead of running the CLI.frameshell doctorsays whichframeshellyour PATH runs.- Faster HyperFrames renders: compositions from
frameshell hyperframes newno longer wait 45 s for a timeline they do not have. For compositions you made before, adddata-no-timelineto the root element. - Also:
--ripple-trackforclip addandclip trim, aborted transactions marked in the History panel, andframeshell --versionin the app printing the app's version.
Upgrading: @frameshell/hyperframes and @frameshell/remotion are now 0.2.0. To update a project, run frameshell plugin install @frameshell/hyperframes@0.2.0 (or @frameshell/remotion@0.2.0) in it. The plugin version is part of the render cache key, so existing clips render once more after the update.
Platform notes
- macOS: signed and notarized (Apple silicon and Intel).
- Linux: beta, not yet verified by hand. CI builds the
.deband AppImage, runs the end-to-end suite on Ubuntu x64, and installs the.debto check itsframeshellcommand. On Linux arm64, HyperFrames and Remotion clips cannot render (no headless Chrome build). - Windows: the installer is unsigned. SmartScreen warns on first run ("More info" → "Run anyway").
Official plugins: @frameshell/whisper-cpp 0.1.0, @frameshell/hyperframes 0.2.0 and @frameshell/remotion 0.2.0 on npm. Full list of changes: CHANGELOG.md.
