- Added Advanced Actions options (Blessed and Blighted rolls).

Botch v1.0
This is it! The big 1.0! This project has taken much longer to complete than I expected. Blame feature creep (always the bane of software development) and competing interests.
While the bots are by no means done (will they ever be?), they are finally in a state where I am comfortable allowing players beyond my test audience to use them.
This changelog only details updates since the last preview release. For full feature details, as well as installation links, visit https://docs.botch.lol.
Improved
/character display: Experience is no longer displayed, as this feature is not yet implemented./character adjust: Now able to change Path (e.g. Humanity -> Honorable Accord).- Added additional validators to ensure data integrity.
Fixed
Mummy
/character adjust: Sekhem and Pillars are now displayed./character adjust: Selecting Pillars adjuster no longer errors.- The user is no longer able to assign Pillars via
/traits assign(use/character adjustinstead).
Botch v0.9.14
New
/character rename— Does what you’d think./virtues set— Update and/or rename Virtues (WoD only).
Improved
- Numerous backend improvements/refactors.
- Added direct documentation links to
/help(@saumya4751).
This is likely (hopefully?) the last release before 1.0! Expect grand things. Grand. Things. Or maybe just a rewritten README and the implementation of a missing feature.
Botch v0.9.13
New
- Full documentation site at https://botch.lol, featuring comprehensive usage guides and full command references.
- Note: The documentation is technically still a WIP and will remain that way until the bot links are live.
Improved
/character imagesnow defaults to allowing anyone to click the buttons.
Fixed
/character images: Thecontrolsparameter showed choices of “True”/“False” instead of the intended values.
Release update: I expected/hoped to hit the 1.0 milestone with this update, but I've made a last-minute decision to rework how special Traits work (#71). Though this means a delay (perhaps a few weeks), this will help the bot a lot in the long run, and it's better to knock it out now when there are few characters in the database.
Botch v0.9.12
Fixed
- Inconsistency between the bots and
/roll,/mrollcommand and the placement of theautosparameter. - The bot would not properly fall back to text if it couldn’t use its emojis.
Misc
/info: “Version” -> “Build”.
Botch v0.9.11
Though it is still pre-1.0, this release drops the BETA tag to better reflect reality.
Improved
/roll,/mroll: Add anautosoption for automatic successes. This is intentionally not part of/macro create, as macros are intended to be flexible.
Botch v0.9.10-BETA
Improved
/roll: When using Willpower, the dice readout will have “+ WP” at the end (WoD only).
Fixed
- An error message wasn’t displayed when using
/traits assignand/traits removewith incorrect syntax. /character adjustwouldn’t update the display after using the character selector menu.- An empty error message would display if the user allowed a character select menu to expire.
Misc
Converted the character cache to a TTL cache. This cache reduces lookups on the database, which provides speedups. The original implementation retained the cache indefinitely, which was good for speed but caused hosting costs to balloon. With this change, hosting costs are cut by ~75%! This will result in more database lookups, but in testing, the difference in speed is negligible unless you're looking for it.
The TTL is set for 1 hour, with a maximum of 100 users' characters held at a time.
Botch v0.9.9-BETA
New
- Add
/preferences. This brings up a pane that shows the status and provides controls for bot settings. (At present, the only setting is “use emojis”, but this provides a framework for more to arrive in the future.) - Add the ability to enable/disable emoji use.
- There are two scopes: “self” and “server”.
- Individual users may toggle emojis for themselves only, while admins can toggle it for the entire server.
- If disabled server-wide, it will override user preferences.
- The user setting will follow that user across servers.
- Default is “on” for both scopes.
- Add a
/changelogcommand.
Improved
- When rolling with Willpower, a point of Willpower is automatically deducted from the active character.
Botch v0.9.8-BETA
This update adds an owner parameter to the following commands:
/character display/traits list/roll
This parameter allows server admins to view their players' characters or roll on their behalf.
In addition, the /character images command is available to all users to view others' uploaded images. (The /character image upload command remains a premium option.)
Note
With the exception of /character images, non-admins should not be able to view others' characters. Please report any such instance as a bug :)
