ruuun 1.3.2
Check for updates works.
- The Check for updates button in Settings now shows the update banner right there, with a message saying what it found. Before, it found new versions but showed nothing on the Settings screen.
Your runs, badges and settings carry over.
ruuun 1.3.1
A fix for the next mission.
- When you go further than your mission but stop more than 2 times, the next mission is now the distance you ran. Before, it stayed where it was: a 1.1 km run on a 300 m mission left it at 300 m. Now it becomes 1.1 km, and the stop goal asks for one fewer stop.
- It only gets longer than the distance you ran after a run with 2 stops or fewer.
- If 1.3 left your mission behind, it catches up automatically when you update.
Your runs, badges and settings carry over.
ruuun 1.3
Stops are now part of the mission.
- Count your stops when you log a run. It's optional; 0 means you ran the whole way.
- A stop goal appears under the next mission: one fewer than last time.
- The distance only gets longer after a run with 2 stops or fewer. With more stops, or none counted, it stays the same while the stops come down. A grown-up can change the 2 in Settings.
- A Stops chart on the Journey tab shows them going down.
- Personal bests after a run: longest run and longest non-stop run.
- 193 badges, including 19 new Non-stop badges and more for a second year. Nothing you have already earned changes.
- Season 2 of the story: four new worlds and twelve more chapters after the festival.
- The longest suggested mission is now 5 km.
Your runs, badges and settings carry over when you update. To add stops to a run you have already logged, open it in History and tap Edit run.
ruuun 1.2
Every badge has its own icon. Earn one and its picture appears: a rocket for Liftoff!, a trophy for Century Club, a snowflake for January and 144 more. Locked badges still show a padlock.
More fun after a run. Confetti falls, your XP pops up, the level bar fills, and levelling up gets its own moment. New badges pop in one by one, and a finished chapter unfolds. The phone gives a little buzz too.
Little touches everywhere. Easier and Harder roll your mission up or down, weekly goal dots bounce in when you fill them, and tapping a badge you have earned makes it wiggle.
Tidier Journey map. Worlds you have finished fold up so your current one is easy to find. Tap a finished world to look back at it.
The right name when installing. The "App installed" screen now says ruuun! instead of app.ruuun.
If the phone's "Remove animations" setting is on, everything still works, just without the movement.
Already on 1.1? The banner at the top of the app will offer this update. Coming from the 1.0 beta? See https://ruuun.t-o.ie for the one-time move.
ruuun 1.1
ruuun! now updates itself. When a new version comes out, a banner at the top of the app offers to download and install it. Your runs and badges stay as they are. You can also tap Check for updates in Settings.
Moving from the 1.0 beta (once only). This version is signed with a new key, so it cannot install over the beta:
- In the beta, open Settings and tap Export progress.
- Uninstall the beta.
- Install this version from https://ruuun.t-o.ie
- In Settings, tap Import progress and pick the file you saved.
Clearer names. The Missions tab is now Journey: this week, the story and all 52 weeks. "Mission" now only means the distance for your next run, and "Weekly goal" is how many days you run each week. The level bar, chapter card and the screen after a run now say what moves them, including why your next mission went up, down or stayed the same.
Android 8.0 or newer.
v1.0 beta
First beta.
Missions now shows the whole journey world by world: four worlds, twelve chapters, each marked finished, in progress or still ahead with the run days it asks for.
Also since 0.5: filling in a run survives rotating the phone, the import preview grammar is fixed, and the app gained 13 instrumented tests against a real database plus a randomised sweep of 1,000 journeys.
Sideloads without Play. Android 8.0+.
v0.5 debug build
A splash screen holds the logo on brand navy while the app reads its data, with the full wordmark underneath on Android 12 and up.
Home drops its logo bar and now uses the same header as the other tabs, with the settings gear beside the greeting.
Sideloads without Play. Android 8.0+.
v0.4 debug build
Beating your mission now sets the next one beyond the distance you ran, scaled by how it felt: +25 m for Hard, one band step for Okay, two for Easy.
Also fixes, from a security and robustness audit: a crash on import for Android 8-12, imports no longer run on the main thread, and backups with impossible start dates or absurd run counts are refused.
Sideloads without Play. Android 8.0+.
v0.3 debug build
Badges explain themselves when tapped, eight run tags, Show all N badges, chapter progress in runs, and beating your mission now raises it even when the run felt hard.
v0.2 debug build
Debug APK, sideloads without Play. Android 8.0+.
New in 1.1: launcher icon rebuilt from the real logo, navy app header, Harder button beside Easier, the mission now follows a distance you beat, "outings" renamed to "runs", and badge and mission copy rewritten to be self-explanatory.
