A macOS port of Nuvio Media Hub built using Mac Catalyst. This brings the full Nuvio streaming experience to macOS as a native desktop application.
What's New
Mac Catalyst Build
- Full macOS support built using Mac Catalyst with KSPlayer video playback.
Desktop-Optimized Video Player
- Two-row bottom control bar: play/pause + seek bar on top with utility buttons below
- Volume button with hover-activated vertical slider with click to mute
- Fullscreen toggle button (native macOS fullscreen)
Keyboard Shortcuts
- Space: Play/Pause
- Left/Right arrows: Skip backward/forward 10 seconds
- Up/Down arrows: Volume up/down
Known Limitations
- GoogleCast/Chromecast is excluded (iOS-only framework, not available on Catalyst)
- Nuvio Sync does not work (I am unaffiliated with the Nuvio devs and don't have access to their servers).
- Skia animations are excluded (onboarding background animation doesn't work). The onboarding screen works but without the animated background
- Device brightness control is not available on macOS
- Live Activities / Dynamic Island are excluded (iOS-only)
- Picture-in-Picture is not supported
- expo-live-activity and react-native-device-brightness are excluded from the build
- Video players that are not KSPlayer don't work
- Downloads don't work (will add in a future release if enough people are interested)
- Ad-hoc signed — requires right-click → Open on first launch, and may need System Settings → Privacy & Security → "Open Anyway" on other Macs
