Update for the past week:

  • 9,119 newly identified accounts with Twitter Blue verification
  • 26,319 accounts lost Blue verification (either by unsubscription or Twitter action)
  • 9,784 accounts returning (had been previously observed as subscribed, then weren't, and now are again)
  • 107 Blue accounts suspended
  • 360 Blue accounts self-deactivated

Net decrease of 8,052 current Blue accounts for a total of 281,147.

I've also posted a list of the top 1,000 accounts that dropped Blue subscriptions this week (sorted by follower count). Probably the most interesting account on that list is the second—according to the API, the official Tesla account is no longer subscribed:

{
  "id": 13298072,
  "name": "Tesla",
  // ...
  "ext_has_nft_avatar": false,
  "ext_verified_type": "Business",
  "ext_is_blue_verified": false
}

As far as I can tell this isn't part of some general change, since for example there are still 1,103 accounts that have both "Business" verification and a Blue subscription.
