@ttiaMa ttiaMa released this 25 Oct 19:25

First stable release of pad-mcp: a self-hosted MCP server for developing Power Automate Desktop flows with shared, reviewed patterns and bundled Classic/Power Fx action references.

Included

  • Developer retrieval and Maintainer draft, review, publication and revision-history tools.
  • Offline Classic and Power Fx action/type catalogs maintained explicitly in the repository.
  • Explicit power_fx mode on development lookups, without persistent chat contexts.
  • Individual Developer API key commands, private aggregate usage statistics and configurable per-key request rate limiting.
  • MCP 2026-07-28 support, with compatibility for 2025-11-25 and earlier SDK-supported protocol revisions.
  • Docker Compose and direct Node.js installation instructions, stable-tag and main-branch workflows, backup and update guidance, and optional Coolify notes.

Installation

Use the source archives below or clone tag v1.0.0, then follow Setup. Docker builds the image from the selected source; no prebuilt container image is attached to this release. Direct installation requires Node.js 24 or later.

New installations start with an empty snippet collection. API keys, server settings and tools work the same whether sources come from the release archive or a Git checkout at the tag.

Upgrading an existing unversioned instance

  • Back up and preserve the existing data volume, environment settings and Compose project identity.
  • Startup upgrades supported SQLite schemas 2-6 to schema 7. The old development-context table, rows and trigger are removed; active API keys, statistics, knowledge, revisions and search data are preserved. Earlier key-cleanup migrations remove already disabled legacy keys and their counters.
  • Reconnect MCP clients: development tools require power_fx: "enabled" or "disabled"; old context_id arguments are rejected. The agent retains the selected mode in the conversation and passes it with each lookup.
  • API key CLI commands and Bearer authentication remain available. The default MCP_CALL_RATE_LIMIT_PER_MINUTE is 100 authenticated MCP requests per key in a rolling 60-second window, including discovery and other protocol requests. Excess requests receive HTTP 429 with Retry-After.
  • Older binaries cannot open schema 7; rollback may require restoring the pre-upgrade database backup. Portable knowledge JSON remains version 2.

See Deployment and upgrades, including the optional instructions for pinning an existing Coolify application to this release's commit.

Validation

62 tests passed on Node.js 24, including modern/legacy MCP integration, role boundaries, data-preserving migrations, stateless edition filtering, API keys and rate limits. Syntax checks, local documentation links and git diff checks passed. A Docker build, the VPS deployment and PAD flow execution were not performed for this release.
