CS-1 0.3.0
The October 2026 review, from 0.2.0 to 0.2.13.
Fixes
- Seven sounds played channel I an octave low (BRASS SWELL, AFRICA 2, BILLIE KEYS, 4001 PLUCK, CLARINET, OBOE, TIMPANI).
- A chord could lose a note when the voices were nearly full; stealing now takes released voices before held ones.
- Portamento glides each voice from its own last note, as the CS-80's voice cards do.
- The reverb's tanks are 32-bit: the hiss under every tail is gone.
- The tape delay no longer ticks as its wow crosses frame boundaries; the clock-synced time no longer steps with the beat's jitter.
- The phaser no longer overflows at high feedback; the chorus width no longer wraps at high depth.
- A settings save waits for the effect tails, not only the voices; user bank slots are range-checked.
- The sub oscillator's filter depth is two octaves either way at full, as intended.
- CC pickup for the Circuit Tracks' macros latches from the knob's first move.
New
- The firmware's version on the MAIN page, with master TUNE and TRANS.
- MODES page: sustain I/II, UNISON (two voices a note), VELOC (a MIDI velocity curve).
- NOISE as the sub oscillator's sixth function.
- DRIVE page: drive with level, and LOW and HIGH shelves on the output.
- FLANGE as the chorus's fourth mode.
- SHIMMER on its own page after REVERB.
- ALGO turns a button's pages either way; the VCA page holds SINE, VCF, LEVEL and the filter release; RING MOD has its own DECAY.
- The voices split evenly between the two cores; the load meter averages.
Installing 0.3.0 resets the settings once (MIDI channel, ribbon, keys). User presets are kept.
