StormDroid 0.1.1 — first beta

⚠️ StormDroid is now in beta: both main phone GPUs, Snapdragon (Adreno) and Mali, are supported. Tested on two phones so far, and Mali still runs slowly. Send reports — they help a lot.

StormDroid is made by one person (and AI).

🆕 What's new

✅ Mali GPUs

Textures now show on a real Mali phone (Mali-G615, thanks to our first tester!). Frame rates there are still low; the new bug report will show us why.

✅ Graphics profiles

Low and Very low buttons in the instance settings, written into the game's settings on the next launch.

• Very low turns the effects off and shortens shadows, for weak GPUs.
• New installs start on Low, or on Very low on GPUs without PC texture support.
• Already playing? Your settings stay as they are until you press a button.
• A grey button means the profile is already set. Change something in the game and it comes back, so it also works as a reset.

✅ Faster Steam download

Twelve connections now fetch the game's data, so big files no longer download one piece at a time.

You need the Steam Mobile app with Steam Guard turned on: the login is confirmed there, not with a code from email.

✅ Cursor fix

In the 1366×768 mode with black margins the cursor drifted away from your finger. Fixed.

✅ Steam download fix

Packing the downloaded game into a zip could fail with FileNotFoundException. Fixed. If you got that error, delete the zip and download again.

✅ Requirements

• Android 11 or newer, 64-bit.
• About 15 GB free for the first install (download, zip and the installed game). After install you can delete the zip.
• Android may say the app is not 16 KB compatible. This comes from Unity's player; on today's phones it is safe to ignore.

Found a bug?

Side menu → Report a bug → choose your email app → describe what happened (what you did, what went wrong) → send. The report carries the logs I need.

⚠️ Reminder
StormDroid is only a launcher.
To run the game, you still need the actual game files (Windows version), which you must obtain yourself - for example, by purchasing Against the Storm on Steam.
