What's new

• Dynamic menu bar choice: the old "Solar and grid" choice, renamed (a choice you already saved keeps working). It shows solar and grid together and puts the load, with a house, in place of whichever has nothing to say: the panels' watts once they make nothing, and the grid's once it is not supplying the house. With neither working, the load shows once. The plain "Solar" choice always shows the panels.
• Grid export estimate for inverters that report "Grid Tie": the status line says "exporting 1.00 kW", the Grid tile shows the export, the illustrations run the grid line the other way, and Details has a "Grid export (estimated)" row. It is an estimate from the power balance, not a meter reading: check it against your meter. Models that report "Off Grid Tie", or no type, never show export.
• Days already read are read from the cloud once more, to add the export figure.

Inverterly for Android 0.1.5

Solar, grid, load and export are now named with icons instead of coloured dots: an orange sun, a blue plug, a house and a green export arrow, in the totals, the chart readouts and the history list. Same as the iOS app.

Install over 0.1.4: download the APK, open it and allow installs from that source. Your login is kept. Play Protect may warn that the app is from an unknown developer; "Install anyway" continues. Needs Android 8.0 or later. Sign in with the same username and password as your inverter's monitoring app.

Inverterly for Android 0.1.4

First downloadable build of the Android app: live inverter reading (Now), today's power curve (Today) and daily and monthly energy (History), read-only like the iOS app.

• Estimates grid export for inverters that report "Grid Tie" (reverse metering). It is an estimate from the power balance, not a meter reading.

Fixes

• History opens instantly: days already read are shown straight from disk, without waiting for the login or the inverter lookup. Only today, and days never read before, go to the cloud.
• Days with no data are remembered, so they are not asked for again on every launch.
• Months tab shows every month: opening Months right after Days now reads back through the earlier months instead of showing only the current one.
• No more stuck "No history yet": an empty history is read again right away, and switching inverters while history is loading no longer leaves the list empty or mixed.

What's new

• Keychain: the sign-in form has a "Save password in Keychain" option, on by default. The password is then kept in your macOS Keychain and the account file holds only the username. Turn it off to keep the password in ~/.config/inverterly/.env as before. Sign out clears both.
• Paste works in the sign-in fields: ⌘V, ⌘C, ⌘X, ⌘A and ⌘Z now work in the username and password fields.

Already signed in with 0.1.0? Your password stays in the account file. Sign out and back in with the Keychain option on to move it.

Inverterly 0.1.0

First release of Inverterly, a personal fork of InverterBar for Voltronic-type solar inverters (Axpert, MPP Solar and others) that report to the DessMonitor, WatchPower or SolarPower cloud. It only reads; it cannot change an inverter setting.

What's in it

• Sign in from the panel with your phone-app login; the app works out which of the three clouds the account uses.
• History: solar, grid (estimated) and load in kWh for each day of the month and for every month the cloud still has.
• Today: solar, grid and load on one chart, with totals so far.
• Inverter switcher for accounts with more than one inverter, each with its own history.
• Menu bar: battery percent, load, solar, or solar and grid together, each with its own icon, or the app's sun-over-a-wave glyph.
• New app icon and a cleaner energy-flow illustration.

Install

Download Inverterly-0.1.0.dmg, open it and drag Inverterly to Applications. The app is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it opens without a Gatekeeper warning. Requires macOS 14 or later.
