Issues During Development
SCOPE
The biggest issue we had to deal with was the scope of the game, as we had a number of plans and things we wanted to implement but were forced to cut to be able to meet the deadline. We did not exceed the scope tremendously, instead, we underestimated how long some of the bug fixings were going to take. Little things like fixing collisions between specific AI or Entities took much longer than anticipated which drove back the time set aside for other features.
Following a strict MVC Pattern
We tried to construct our games following good MVC practices. However, trying to stick strictly to MVC caused a number of difficulties in implementation, as quite often our first or second solution did not follow MVC and as such certain aspects to longer to implement than we thought they would. Certain aspects became slightly more complex or required more functions to work successfully, which made it difficult for the other member to immediately understand if they got around to working with it later in the project.
