Pre-release
Pre-release
NetVista Studio 1.3 Beta 1
This is a public beta. Keep backups of important projects and media.
Animated 3D on macOS
- Animate object transforms and the scene camera with smooth, linear, or hold keyframes.
- Scrub and play a dedicated 3D scene timeline.
- Pose and keyframe bones already present in imported rigged models.
- Add Off, Static, Dynamic, or Kinematic physics with mass, gravity, bounce, and friction.
- Build Studio Stage, City Block, Landscape, and Arena procedural maps.
- Put videos into 3D scenes and improve green-screen removal with choke and spill suppression.
- Existing version-1
.netvistascenefiles migrate safely to the version-2 format.
NetVista Studio can pose an existing rig; this beta does not create a skeleton or paint skin weights onto an unrigged OBJ.
Mods on macOS, Windows, and Linux
- Install
.netvistamodpackages by picker or drag-and-drop from the new Mods page. - Enable, disable, remove, rescan, and open the persistent per-user Mods folder.
- Apply bounded creator themes and show native declarative information/tool pages.
- Browse validated creator catalog descriptions for future scene props, maps, and effect presets. Catalog assets are not inserted automatically in this beta.
- New packages remain disabled until the user enables them.
Mods v1 cannot run scripts, executables, native libraries, HTML/CSS, shaders, or arbitrary creator code. Package paths, size limits, compatibility, content declarations, and SHA-256 hashes are verified before installation.
See MODDING.md to create a portable package.
Sharing and release improvements
- Local sharing now displays the Mac's private Wi-Fi/LAN address and rejects devices outside its active subnet.
- The Update button recognises this release as newer than NetVista Studio 1.2 Beta 1.
- Windows and Linux packages are built and smoke-tested from this exact release tag.
- The website now presents the 1.3 feature set and fits desktop, tablet, and phone screens without horizontal overflow.
Platform notes
- Advanced animated SceneKit 3D editing is currently macOS-only. Windows and Linux preserve the editable scene data but do not yet render the native SceneKit workspace.
- The macOS package is locally signed but not Apple-notarized because this repository does not yet have Apple Developer credentials. Control-click the app and choose Open on first launch. A notarized replacement can be uploaded later without changing the version.
- Windows and Linux users should unzip the complete application folder before launching.
- Up to 16K export depends on the selected codec and available memory, storage, and render time.
