V2Mac 0.7.0
What's changed
- Show every active connection on the map, and make the window's switches Liquid Glass
- Each country with open connections that move data gets an arc that stays, labelled with its flag and how many connections go there
- Connections are placed by their real address when known (TUN mode), using the core's own country data, and never by asking an online service
- The tab and filter switches are Liquid Glass, with the chosen side flowing to the next
- Place map arcs from the Mac's own country table instead of a geocoding service
- Move the map into the Connections window and show real traffic on it
- The globe is now a Map tab in the Connections window, next to the connection list
- The map lists the latest real connections with their apps, and the apps that use the most data
- Sites under a country's domain arc from the server to that country
- The Connections window has glass tab and filter switches, and the list and log sit in rounded panels
- Sort the Connections window by any column and hide DNS lookups
- Click a column header to sort; the order is kept as connections update and across launches
- DNS lookups made through TUN mode no longer fill the list
- Tidier rows: full rule badges, a network icon and a dash for connections without an app
- Show the app behind each connection in TUN mode, and fix a crash in the Connections window
- In TUN mode, connections are matched to the app that opened them, with its icon and traffic
- The Connections window no longer crashes when connections arrive
- Log lines now name the app as soon as it is known
- Explain administrator access before asking, and never ask at launch
- TUN mode and the system proxy start off each time V2Mac opens, so launching never asks for a password
- Before macOS asks, an alert explains what the helper changes, that nothing is saved or sent, and links to the source on GitHub
- Add a Connections window that shows each app's connections live
- See the app, target, time open, the rule that routed it, and bytes sent and received for every connection
- A log below lists each connection as it opens and closes, with its traffic and how long it lasted
- Filter by open connections, search apps and targets, and clear closed ones
- Open it from the new glass button next to the Rule Editor at the bottom of the sidebar
- Line up the group arrows in the Rule Editor's simple mode
- The arrow sits centred in its own column, so every row's icon lines up, and turns when a group opens
- A group's members appear indented below it
- Jump to a rule from the Rule Editor's simple mode
- Clicking a row's rule badge opens Advanced, scrolls to that rule and makes it glow for a moment
- Add Block to the Rule Editor's simple mode
- Each row's switch now offers Proxy, Direct and Block, with Block in red
- Filter by Block, and block several selected rows at once
- Polish the Rule Editor's simple mode: sections, app and site icons, and rule badges
- Rows are split into New, Apps and Sites, with search in the toolbar
- Apps show their real icons, also for entries like Books.app and bundle ids; system services get a gear
- Sites show the icon of a matching installed app, or the Apple logo for Apple domains
- Each row shows the rule it belongs to; click the badge to edit it in Advanced
- Names appear without pattern marks, with a short line underneath for groups and subdomains
- Simplify the Rule Editor's simple mode into one list with a Proxy | Direct switch per row
- New connections are marked and listed first; filter by All, New, Proxy or Direct, or search
- Groups open to show their members, each with its own switch
- Select several rows to send them to Proxy or Direct together
- Connection lines stay out of the log window unless Log connections is on
- Add a Rule Editor with a simple drag-and-drop mode and rule profiles
- Simple mode lists the apps and sites that connect, grouped by name, next to Proxy and Direct columns
- Drag an app, a site or a whole group (as name) into Proxy or Direct, or use the move buttons
- The Proxy column shows the flag and country of the connected server
- Advanced mode is the ordered rule list
- Switch between named rule profiles from the editor's toolbar
- Open it from the new glass button at the bottom of the sidebar or from Settings → Routing
- Turn custom rules into one ordered list with app rules and Proxifier import
- Rules are checked top to bottom and the first match wins; each has a name, an on/off switch, apps and hosts
- Your Block, Proxy and Direct lists move into the new list in the order they were applied
- Match apps by name, Name.app, bundle id, word or full path (system proxy mode)
- Hosts accept Proxifier's word keywords and IP ranges like 10.0.0.1-10.0.0.9
- Import a Proxifier profile (.ppx) from Settings → Routing
- New Block QUIC (UDP 443) setting, so browsers' host names reach the rules
- localhost, *.local and other local names always go direct
- The Rule Builder adds its picks as one new rule
