Josi CE Native Linux 0.1.78-linux.4

Corrected Blade/Arch x86_64 acceptance package. This supersedes v0.1.78-linux.3, whose GTK launcher accidentally overrode Gio.Application.run.

Physical validation on bananana (Blade/Arch)

  • Installed successfully through pacman -U
  • Installed package version: josi-ce-server-setup 0.1.78_linux.4-1
  • Installed launcher bytes match the reviewed source
  • GTK setup window launched in the real desktop session without a warning or traceback
  • Packaged offline inventory verification passed for x86_64
  • Two independent package builds produced identical SHA-256 bytes

Acceptance limits

This package is unsigned and remains an acceptance prerelease. Full privileged server installation, reboot persistence, upgrade/recovery, and retained-data uninstall/reinstall remain pending. The hand-built package does not include Arch .MTREE metadata, so pacman -Qkk cannot perform its own post-install file audit; Josi’s packaged inventory verifier passed separately.

Packaging source commit: 673d756. The native packaging source has not yet been merged into public main.

Debian and RPM users should continue using v0.1.78-linux.2.

WITHDRAWN FOR BLADE/ARCH

The GTK launcher in this release crashes at startup. Use v0.1.78-linux.4, physically installed and launched on bananana.

Josi CE Native Linux 0.1.78-linux.3

Corrected Blade/Arch x86_64 acceptance package. This supersedes the malformed Arch package in v0.1.78-linux.2, whose archive stored package metadata under the wrong member name.

Validation completed

  • pacman -Qp recognizes the package as josi-ce-server-setup 0.1.78_linux.3-1
  • pacman -Qip reads complete metadata and dependencies
  • pacman -Qlp reads the full installed-file inventory
  • .PKGINFO is stored at the exact archive root
  • Two independent builds produced identical SHA-256 bytes

Acceptance limits

This package is unsigned and remains an acceptance prerelease. Physical root installation and GUI lifecycle testing on Blade/Arch are still pending.

Packaging source commit: 69417db. The native packaging source has not yet been merged into public main.

Debian and RPM users should continue using v0.1.78-linux.2.

@vaxman14 vaxman14 released this 11 Oct 08:35

Josi CE Server 0.1.78-linux.20

Unsigned x86_64 Linux acceptance candidate for Arch Linux, Debian/Ubuntu, and Fedora/RHEL.

Changes

  • Fresh installs automatically select the next available port when a preferred port is occupied.
  • Existing installations retain their recorded ports during upgrades.
  • The offline voice runtime bundles its required Fortran, Quadmath, and OpenMP libraries for Debian/RHEL hosts.
  • The headless installer supports both interactive sudo and passwordless noninteractive sudo.
  • Linux staging now regenerates the cryptographic payload inventory before packaging, preventing stale version metadata.
  • The same one-command installer detects Pacman, APT, DNF, or YUM and installs the matching verified package.

Acceptance

Physically installed on a clean Debian host while another application occupied 0.0.0.0:8080. Josi selected 8081, all six services became active, readiness passed, and offline voice imports succeeded without disturbing the existing application or Cloudflare tunnels.

Artifacts are unsigned prerelease builds. Verify downloads with SHA256SUMS-linux.20.txt.

Josi CE Server 0.1.78-linux.16

@vaxman14 vaxman14 released this 11 Oct 06:11

Unsigned x86_64 Linux acceptance prerelease.

Headless installation:

curl -fsSL https://github.com/vaxman14/josi-ce/releases/download/v0.1.78-linux.16/install-josi-ce-server.sh | sh

Run that command from a normal sudo-enabled login account. It detects Arch, Debian/Ubuntu, or Fedora/RHEL, downloads the pinned native package, installs the complete server, and finishes by printing the private LAN setup URL. No Docker, Git checkout, or separate runtime is required.

Desktop installation uses the one-file .run installer. It automatically selects, downloads, checksum-verifies, and installs the matching native package, then opens browser setup.

This release fixes the universal GUI browser handoff on Arch/Plasma by launching the host desktop browser outside the bundled AppImage environment and checking the launcher result. It also fixes the privileged handoff directory so the installing user can traverse to their private setup record while other users remain blocked.

Includes the headless installer, desktop .run, AppImage, Pacman, Debian/Ubuntu, and Fedora/RHEL-family native packages. Validated with focused regression tests, package metadata and payload identity checks, a fresh GUI-backed systemd install under umask 077, and a fresh normal-user headless installation. All six services became active and the intended user received the final private setup URL.

Source provenance: native packages and desktop installer d0aebb0797b5b5a38075121b312f6c050beaa8b4; headless installer b7cd372. Artifacts are unsigned. Physical Arch browser-opening acceptance remains the final desktop device check.
