  • Buffer overflow in -hg / --hoursgraph text output when UnitMode was
    configured with non-default value of either 1 or 2
  • Some higher traffic days could be missing from top days output when the
    interface merge syntax (interface1+interface2) was used
  • Database query with many short interfaces using merge syntax could fail
    even when input length was within the 255 character limit
  • Command execution, error reporting, interface selection, output escaping
    and caching fixes in all example output scripts (vnstat.cgi,
    vnstat-json.cgi, vnstat-json.php and vnstat-metrics.cgi)
  • Sample timestamps, empty resolutions, rx and tx value precision and year
    sample alignment when MonthRotateAffectsYears is enabled in Prometheus
    metrics example (examples/vnstat-metrics.cgi)
  • Reserved characters in interface name and alias in --json and --xml
    outputs were not escaped and would make the output have invalid syntax

  • Interface name in --json -l and --json -tr outputs was not escaped when
    the name contained a quote or a backslash

  • Add TrueType font support to image output with image size scaling based
    on used font size, configurable with FontFile and FontSize or --font
  • Add --common-width to vnstati for getting images padded to common width
    from different outputs when same font and font size is used
  • Add XDG Base Directory support for configuration file,
    $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/vnstat/vnstat.conf and $HOME/.config/vnstat/vnstat.conf
    are tried before $HOME/.vnstatrc, /etc/vnstat.conf and

  • Increased maximum supported MaxBandwidth value from 50000 to 400000
