Codescribe 0.17.0 carries the accepted 1149 line, with the Silero streaming contract, acoustic ownership repairs and native conversation controls, and the 16–17 October work on the agent bus and the overlay. Sparkle now orders updates by release version instead of branch-dependent commit counts, so an update can no longer offer an older release because it has a larger build counter. Existing numeric-version installations need one installation of the new DMG.

Dictation and transcription

  • Silero streaming contract and acoustic ownership: speech stays open across duration splits, the capture clock is preserved and unmeasured silence is refused.
  • Stop no longer loses words: ready STT returns are collected before Stop expires, the stop drain waits for a cold local engine, and the snapshot-selected live refiner is prewarmed.
  • Cloud: capture-owned segmentation is admitted, and partial Cloud source retention is integrated; a channel's own archive reaches its session for the terminal witness.
  • Settings: a seconds-slider drag commits once, at release.

Agent bus

  • Channel 0 has a policy per agent lease: on receives broadcasts, quiet keeps them without waking the agent, off skips new broadcasts. Direct messages stay on; the All row and the CLI expose all three values.
  • Steer is global: quiet also queues direct and peer deliveries, and watch suppresses quiet direct rows like broadcast rows.
  • Held deliveries: an outgoing message waits for a visible countdown. Cancel/Edit takes it back — it withdraws the message from the bus first, then returns its text to the composer — and Send now releases it. A failed withdraw keeps the text and names the error on the bubble.
  • A dead session binding no longer blocks a channel-0 broadcast: it is skipped and reported in the receipt.
  • Agent voice playback is not cut by a scan that only ran out of its 0.5 s budget; a scan that finds a live take still stops it at once.
  • The install CLI selects agent-bridge client skills, the same act Settings performs, on a host without a window (#174).

Overlay

  • Agents: a docked column on wide windows, pills on narrow ones. A microphone click in the open list keeps the list, so a broadcast to two agents is two clicks; the agent name in a reply bubble opens that agent's chat; dead sessions are dimmed.
  • Header: one tree that climbs mini → midi → expanded without overlapping controls; a broadcast policy menu replaces the checkbox grid.
  • Pin means the window level: pinned stays above every window, unpinned slips under the window you click and comes back on a click.
  • The expanded overlay folds to midi when another window of the app opens.
  • Auto fold after 5, 10, 30 or 60 s, or Never, from the header menu (default 10 s); every expansion folds after idle, manual ones included.
  • Conversations no longer open on an empty canvas: each conversation gets its own list that starts at the bottom, and opening, the morph and new messages no longer race the rows' remeasurement on macOS 15+.
  • ⌘C copies the text of an agent bubble.
  • Controls show the arrow pointer, not the text I-beam; the tray and pointer dot is violet in agent mode, red in dictation, orange only while processing.

Updates and security

  • Sparkle compares release versions; appcast input with a DTD is rejected and bounded.
  • OAuth requests require TLS and refuse redirects.
  • CI restricts the localization token; queue contract tests run as a required step.

Validation

  • Hosted CI on d1f8a1da9 (this tag): Clippy + Tests, Rust Quality and Code Quality passed.
  • Full Swift suite on 100668a1f, run on dragon: 1,679 executed, zero failures. The cuts merged after it add Swift tests (bubble ⌘C, app-window fold, Cancel/Edit, pin level, agent-list microphone, auto fold, empty conversation canvas) that have not yet run in the full suite.
  • Earlier 1149 validation: Swift 1,608 executed, zero failures; Rust workspace 3,619 passed, zero failed, 47 ignored.
  • This DMG: make release-standard from d1f8a1da9, Developer ID signed, notarized and stapled, payload gate passed.

Agent bridge

  • Remote Codex sessions are woken on the client host; a resolved remote wake-up and bad relay lines no longer stall the queue (#175).

Install

Download Codescribe.dmg below (or the provenance-named Codescribe_0.17.0-<date>-d1f8a1da9.dmg; same bytes) and check it with shasum -a 256 -c Codescribe.dmg.sha256. Installations on a numeric build version need this DMG once; after that, Sparkle offers updates by release version.
