TuxShell 1.3.0
TuxShell 1.3.0: 1Password
Sign in to your servers with passwords that stay in 1Password.
What's new
1Password references
- Give a host a 1Password reference such as
op://Infra/db-01/password(in 1Password: Copy
Secret Reference on the field). When the server asks for the password, TuxShell gets it from
1Password, which may ask you to approve. - The password is never stored, logged or shown, and references work even with Allow saving
passwords turned off. - Check in the host form confirms a reference works.
- If 1Password can't give the password, or the server refuses it, the password box tells you why.
- Remote desktops use the reference in their own window.
- Preferences → Security shows whether the 1Password CLI is installed, with setup steps.
1Password SSH agent
- Use the 1Password SSH agent (Preferences → Security, off by default) lets TuxShell's ssh use
the SSH keys kept in 1Password, also through jump hosts. Hosts whose~/.ssh/configpicks an
agent keep using it.
Home
- Hide the "Found hosts in ~/.ssh/config" reminder with its ×. It comes back only when new
hosts appear; hidden hosts are still listed in Import.
Fixed
- Leftover files from TuxShell runs that didn't close cleanly are now removed at startup.
Set up 1Password
- Install the 1Password app and the
1Password CLI. - In the 1Password app, turn on Settings → Developer → Integrate with 1Password CLI.
- Paste a reference into a host's Password reference and press Check.
