TuxShell 1.4.0
TuxShell 1.4.0: now on macOS (beta)
TuxShell runs on macOS too: one app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
macOS (beta)
- One universal app (
TuxShell-1.4.0-universal.dmg) for Apple silicon and Intel, macOS 12 or
newer. It uses thesshthat comes with macOS, so your~/.ssh/config, keys and agents work. - Feels like a Mac app: macOS's own close, minimize and zoom buttons, a standard menu bar, and
shortcuts on ⌘: ⌘K quick connect, ⇧⌘L hosts, ⌘C / ⌘V copy and paste in the terminal. Ctrl
stays with the terminal, so Ctrl+C still interrupts. - Keychain for saved passwords; your data lives in
~/Library/Application Support/TuxShell. - 1Password references and the 1Password SSH agent work as on Linux, and tools from Homebrew
(op,sdl-freerdp) are found.
This is the first macOS version, so it's marked beta. Please report anything that doesn't work.
Install on macOS
- Download
TuxShell-1.4.0-universal.dmg, open it and drag TuxShell to Applications. - The app isn't notarized by Apple yet, so the first start is blocked. Open it once, then go to
System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. Or, in Terminal:xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/TuxShell.app
- Optional, with Homebrew:
brew install freerdpfor remote desktops in their own window.
Linux
- Preferences now shows the real settings and recordings folders.
- Everything else works as in 1.3.0.
