Ghosttea is a native Ghostty-powered terminal runtime and desktop experience for Electron applications.

This release publishes 10 npm packages and 7 Rust crates under one shared version.

Added

  • session-metadata-changed, a control event at protocol minor 17, carries a
    session's working directory and title together, as absolute state, when
    either changes. A shell's cd reaches a client when its OSC 7 arrives
    instead of at the client's next list-sessions. A resize or a repeated
    OSC 7 sends nothing, and remote replicas send the same event. Clients that
    negotiated an older minor never receive it.
    • @vibecook/ghosttea-protocol validates the event and exports
      METADATA_EVENT_PROTOCOL_MINOR.
    • The Rust crates add SessionMetadata, Session::subscribe_metadata,
      RemoteReplica::subscribe_metadata and
      RemoteTerminalRuntime::subscribe_metadata, whose default never fires.

Changed

  • Rust consumers must move their truffle-core pin to =0.7.22. Every
    crate sharing an application-owned Truffle node must resolve the same
    version. Swift consumers get Truffle 0.7.22 through Ghosttea's exact pin.
    • Truffle 0.7.20 adds app capabilities, tags and the user id to WhoIs
      identity (protocol 9), and reports key expiry, the control server and a
      sidecar exit as status events (protocol 10).
    • Truffle 0.7.21 builds its sidecar with Go 1.27.3 for CVE-2026-111943, and
      takes ctutils and tokio for RUSTSEC-2026-0385 and -0386 in its own lock.
      Ghosttea's lock has carried both fixes since 0.13.2.
    • Truffle 0.7.22 rebuilds TailscaleKit, which GhostteaKit links on iOS, with
      Go 1.27.3.
  • The Apple native artifact is rebuilt for this release.
