I was surprised that the command line does not offer the same completion feature that is available for file names. It would make access of commands not bound to keys much more quicker for the advanced user.

Please try the "expand-commands" branch. Docs are not updated yet, but: 'Tab' on an empty command line brings up a command requester. Select-and-tab to see help on the selected command. Escape out of help and you're back to the command requester. Select-and-enter returns you to the command line with that command's short form. Feedback is welcome.
