  • Host lookup retains IP literals and resolves the engine’s loopback; names without a host route now report asynchronous ENOTFOUND instead of 0.0.0.0, which could connect to an unrelated local listener. Callback and Promise lookup share the behavior; unsupported DNS record and reverse queries also fail explicitly (ADR-0002, substrate Article 6).
