vormia-go-cli v1.0.0

First stable release of the Vormia Go CLI — the artisan-style command-line tool for the Vormia Go application framework. This release ships Slice 1: scaffold a project, run it locally, and verify your environment.

Install

go install github.com/vormialabs/vormia-go-cli/cmd/vormia@v1.0.0

Requires Go 1.26+. Verify with vormia --version.

Highlights

vormia new — project scaffolding

Creates a working slice-1 application in seconds:

vormia new blog --db sqlite
cd blog
go mod tidy
vormia serve
  • Chi router, /health route, and graceful shutdown wired through the vormia-go kernel
  • Database driver of your choice: --db sqlite (default), postgres, or mysql
  • Optional Redis cache with --cache redis
  • Custom module path with --module example.com/blog
  • Generates main.go, go.mod (with pinned framework and driver versions), .env.example, .gitignore, and .vormia.json project metadata for future upgrade tooling
  • Templates are embedded in the binary via //go:embed — no external files needed, works offline

vormia serve — run the app

Runs go run . from the project root. Requires .vormia.json, so it only runs inside a scaffolded Vormia project. The app kernel handles serving and shutdown; the CLI stays out of the run loop.

vormia doctor — environment checks

Confirms the Go toolchain is on PATH and, when run inside a project, that .vormia.json is present.

What's next

Commands ship alongside the framework slices they depend on:

  • make:model, make:controller, make:service — waiting on the framework ORM slice
  • migrate up / migrate down — waiting on the migration system
  • install — waiting on the config/provider slice
  • upgrade — waiting on release manifests
