Changed

  • Tool approval moved to the permissions plugin. The built-in
per-tool consent prompt is gone from the binary; gray-permissions
owns the tool/before approval gate (/permissions,
read-only/auto/full modes) and is seeded by default on fresh
installs. The prompt mirrors Devin CLI: Allow with a
Once/Session/Project/Always scope slider, Bypass mode, and Deny —
Deny and Esc cancel the whole turn, e edits a bash command and runs
it, and Project/Always persist allow rules to .gray/permissions.json
in the project or the user's home. tool/before plugins can return a
cancel verdict to end the turn.
  • Plugin and MCP tool cards show their output. Recall, memory,
subagents and mcp__* cards used to render as a bare header; every tool
now gets the numbered result body (head and tail past 40 lines), except
    read, skill, request_user_input and discord_ui_schema.
  • Redesigned approval and question prompt. Borderless in the picker
style and theme colors: the tool and its full command or path (wrapped,
never truncated), the working directory dimmed, numbered options with
1-N shortcuts. Approvals have no Other row. Options can carry a scope
slider (left/right cycles the value, it ships as scope:), and a
question marked editable lets e open the subject inline, shipping
    the edited text as edited:.
  • No more capability-consent nags. A plugin's manifest declaration
is the grant: the "declares ungranted capabilities … grant with gray
plugin capabilities" warning is gone, along with the pending-consent
state. Calls to host methods a plugin did not declare still fail
capability_not_granted; gray plugin capabilities keeps showing
    the declared set.
  • Experimental background compaction is on by default. It was
    opt-in in 0.2.6; disable with GRAY_BACKGROUND_COMPACTION=0 or
    "background_compaction": false.
  • /theme runs through the gray-themes plugin and crates/gray-ide
is the IDE — the in-process prototype was dropped.
