CFC: Publish HTML Ruby Markup Extensions FPWD #26
Comments
The W3C Internationalization Working Group in our teleconference of 2024-04-25 actioned me with endorsing this FPWD. We are excited to see progress on this work of long-standing! |
@dyacob Thanks! fixed in w3c/html-ruby@b1508b6 |
With thanks to everyone who considered this CFC, and to @aphillips and the International WG in particular, this CFC passes with no objections. Per #26 (comment), we'll publish the FPWD and request wide and horizontal reviews of the HTML Ruby Markup Extensions specification. |
This is a Call For Consensus (CFC) to publish the First Public Working Draft (FPWD) of the HTML Ruby Markup Extensions in accordance with the Agreement on HTML Ruby Markup.
"Ruby", a form of interlinear annotation, are short runs of text alongside the base text. They are typically used in East Asian documents to indicate pronunciation or to provide a short annotation. The Editors Draft (ED) has an Intro to ruby and Background and an explanation of the Relation to the HTML Standard.
Once the FPWD is published, we will request Wide and Horizontal Review of the FPWD. Florian Rivoal (@frivoal) will serve as the Editor, and work will continue in the Editors Draft (ED) which will publish synchronously to the Working Draft (WD).
If you object to the HTML Ruby Markup Extensions FPWD being published, please post a comment on this issue with your reasons, no later than the end of your day on Tuesday 30 April 2024.
With thanks.
