Terminology in the two documents

Both documents have terminology sections:

• Terminology is section 2 of the Verifiable Claims Data Model and Representations document.
• Terminology is section A of the Verifiable Claims Use Cases document.

This is great, but there is a slightly different set of terms in each document. Plus the definitions of some of the terms differ in length and detail (not necessarily meaning, although there are nuances).

For example:

• The Data Model document defines issuer as an entity that creates a verifiable claim, associates it with a particular subject, and transmits it to a holder.
• The Use Cases document defines issuer as an entity that creates a credential and associates it with a particular holder.

As a newbie, I may be missing something. Perhaps there are nuances due to context?

(And a small nit, the terms could be in alphabetical order.)

You're not missing anything @CipherQueen, we're supposed to be using a shared glossary which is here:

@jandrieu -- any chance you could refer to that glossary like so in the vc-use-cases document:

Also, thanks a ton for starting to review @CipherQueen -- it is super helpful to get a fresh set of knowledgeable eyes on the document this late in the process. We've become numb to issues like this, but do need to fix them before we progress to the next stage in the horizontal review process at W3C.

I noticed the reference in the DM document is to <div data-include="./terms.html"

I'll update it as well.

I believe this still needs a PR -- the previous PR did the wrong change and was closed without merging.

I think we are keeping the DM repo version as master and the use case pointing at it (for now anyway). I’ll double check. Ultimate we probably need a terminology repo for both to reference.

I just confirmed. the DM repo is still pointing at the local ./terms.html. I propose we

1. let the data model hold the official terms.html
2. let the use-cases refer to the data model
3. close this issue
