• round_start carries config_digest (sha256 of listed prompt-file paths and bytes, check cmdlines, [vcs] dirty_action, prompt delivery, agent env). Snapshot extras (paths/names only, no env values) emit only when it changes. Host-health floors and give-up codes are not hashed. The kill path does not read these fields.
• Recipe: docs/recipes/between-rounds.md + examples/between_rounds.py — swap a prompt between rounds of a running serve; do not auto-restart on 78/75/70.

• docs/configuration.md Config reload: cold / hot / mixed lifetimes; exit 78 is child ConfigError or prompt smoke, not every [phases] edit; default wait self-rotates. The round child re-reads the TOML; serve's boot copy stays the schedule / phase / ceiling / host-health set.
• [goal] treadmill: the round child looks back across completed rounds, not serve.
• docs/events.md: JSONL is history; peek --json is live, not a past-config replay. Config reload points at round_start.config_digest.
• [goal] ledger: truncated to 8192 bytes; extra notes go in another [prompt] files entry.
• round is not a substitute for serve.
• docs/architecture.md: round_deferred (admission pause) vs host_cgroup_memory_limit.defer (leaf has both memory caps); two-arm pre-OOM proof is gated e2e, not a Tailscale-SSH grok loop.

No config migration required. peek --json schema stays 2.6.
