SPIKE 0.4.3 - UI and power-tree hotfix (source prerelease)
SPIKE 0.4.3 - UI and power-tree hotfix
Source-only experimental prerelease, based on published 0.4.2 commit
390e6d56466955cc7a5ad886ff528a9269a1adb6.
- Center the workspace search and move secondary utilities to the right.
- Correct the collapsed Board Nets chevron and keep the net panel clear of the
axis navigator. Replace separate rotation buttons with axis rotation rings. - Open saved thermal studies in thermal setup instead of PI setup.
- Improve the power-tree overview with directional branches, collapse, fit,
zoom and selection/evidence details. Improve pin-role inference, regulator
and PMIC output handling, and ground rejection; inferred paths need review. - Add the Geometry -> basic PI command. This hands normalized PCB copper
to the already releasedspike.routed_dcresistive-network solver and returns
its existing geometry-linked fields. It does not infer electrical properties
from arbitrary STEP solids. See the workflow.
No solver or native numerical kernel changes are included. New CFD, turbulence,
force/torque, AC and other development capabilities are excluded from this patch.
Existing power-budget calculation mathematics is unchanged.
Verification and limits
Focused UI, power-tree and geometry-adapter tests, parser regression, TypeScript,
button-standard and architecture checks, and the production frontend build pass.
A real worker handoff on a declared copper track returned the existing approximate
DC result with 12 geometry faces and voltage/current/current-density/loss fields.
Browser checks exercised the centered header, geometry search command and
power-tree fit/collapse behavior. These are not installed-app acceptance.
Native host tests: 80 pass, 1 fails because this source checkout has no packaged
worker executable, and 1 live-OS test is ignored. The default Cargo build also
requires that absent worker resource; the host test run used a test-only empty
bundle-resource override. No installer qualification is claimed.
The full Python run completed with 5,694 tests: 35 failures, 115 errors and 210
skips. It does not pass. Details and the exact scope audit are recorded in the
validation record.
Numerical human review remains incomplete. The owner's prior authorization
allows an experimental publication with this disclosed status. Existing numerical
provenance and validation gaps and execution gates remain in effect. This release
is not engineering qualification.
Assets are a committed-source ZIP and SHA-256 checksum only. There is no new
installer, and publication does not update an existing installation. The wider
physics and detailed imported-part CFD work remains outside this release.

SPIKE 0.4.2 - experimental source prerelease
SPIKE 0.4.2 — experimental prerelease
Numerical human review is incomplete. On 26 October 2026 the project owner
explicitly authorized publication with that status disclosed. This exception
allows an experimental prerelease; it is not reviewer approval, engineering
qualification, or a change to any solver execution gate.
This release includes unified saved-frame playback for thermal, PI and CFD
results; combined fluid and solid-temperature views with exact time matching;
fixed/manual color ranges and sample inspection; and persistent labeled controls
for selected/analyzed-net highlighting, single-board analyzed-net isolation and
transparent geometry inspection. Solver-colored nets are filled and can be
inspected through translucent CAD context.
The accumulated desktop work also includes multiboard assembly workflows,
guarded solver integrations, IBIS driver/input-receiver workflows and 38 work
examples. The solver-folder mathematics and references
documents governing methods, assumptions, units, sources and evidence limits.
Known limitations and verification
- The retained full Python run has 5,728 tests, 2 failures, 5 errors and 87
skips. Some focused reruns passed; no passing full suite for the final source
is claimed. SI08 native acceptance evidence is stale. - Focused field/viewport, TypeScript, architecture and release metadata checks
passed. These do not replace physical validation or final installed-app tests. - Final native UI and package lifecycle qualification remain incomplete.
Fresh Linux and macOS 0.4.2 qualification is unavailable. - The demonstrated native CHT case uses a board and declared component cuboids,
not arbitrary detailed STEP parts. Its 0.020-second startup result is not
thermal equilibrium. Component heating is prescribed; that example does not
solve copper current losses. Detailed polygon-prism CAD CHT and broader
mesh/time convergence remain unresolved. - IBIS refinement and independent numerical accuracy/coverage review remain
incomplete. Cosmetic moving streamline markers do not represent transient
particle trajectories.
See the release assessment,
presentation evidence,
solver status and release plan.
Historical assessments retain their original gate results; this owner exception
must not be read as a passing result for those gates.
SPIKE is an early community preview, largely developed with LLM assistance.
It is provided AS IS. Optional external engines remain separately installed and
subject to their own licenses. Use the attached assets and their checksums as
the authority for available downloads; no other platform binary is implied.
Downloads
This publication is source-only. No 0.4.2 Windows, Linux or macOS installer
is attached. The retained local Windows preview predates the debugger repair;
its component inventory differs from its pending approval record. It is not
presented as a final-source build. Rebuilding and completing dependency and
package verification remain separate follow-up work. This release does not
update an existing installation.

SPIKE 0.4.0-alpha.1
SPIKE 0.4.0-alpha.1 — experimental multiphysics preview
Numerical and firmware human review is pending. This prerelease is not a
stable, qualified, safety-assured or production engineering release. Development
is largely LLM-driven; the project’s human-review requirement has not been
fulfilled for the integrated numerical changes. The owner explicitly requested
publication with this disclaimer: “not yet, make the release with the disclaimer”.
This is an exception for experimental publication only. It does not turn an
unreviewed method, model, package or test into reviewed/validated evidence.

The README and platform guide on main include subsequent documentation-only presentation updates.
Included integration
- Part operating limits: occurrence/part-specific voltage,
current, temperature, power, mechanical stress and frequency checks; declared
allowance stress/headroom percentages; per-part summaries; JSON/CSV pass,
fail and incomplete reports with source provenance and coverage gaps. - Python workspace: searchable templates with category
and requirement matches, current SPIKES Studio runtime/handoff/feedback
templates, and a worker-based engineering review/report template. - SPIKES Owned Native Circuit Engine discovery and Solver Manager integration:
named blocks/dependencies, native runtime content identity and additive ABI
feature evidence. Symbol discovery alone does not enable unsupported worker
operations or qualify a numerical model. - Main field viewport: cells, points, velocity arrows
and connected flow curves share the board scene/camera; compact contextual
field controls and saved-frame playback replace the standalone field window. - Integrated development across the solver suite, assemblies, import, materials,
SPICE Studio and the clean interface, with capability-specific experimental,
approximate and unsupported states retained. See solver status.
Scope and safeguards
Part-limit observations are explicit captured inputs. SPIKE does not infer
manufacturer ratings, automatically qualify all pins/corners, or turn arbitrary
solver fields into accepted part measurements. Temperature percentages use a
reference such as ambient, not a ratio of absolute Celsius values. Missing or
unreviewed evidence never becomes a pass. Limits checks are not reliability,
lifetime, fatigue or combined-stress qualification.
CFD/CHT, EM, SI, thermal, circuit and hybrid routes retain their individual
geometry, material, boundary-condition, solver and validation limits. Main-view
visualization does not establish solved-field accuracy. Renderer-generated flow
curves are approximate frozen-field presentation, not transient particle paths.
General arbitrary-assembly multiphysics, universal GPU acceleration, automatic
MCAD authoring, qualified firmware co-simulation and Blender rendering are not
claimed by this release.
Technical checks, source identity, publication identity, dependency/licensing,
artifact hashes and supported-platform packaging acceptance remain required.
The review exception does not waive these gates. Platform availability must be
read from the actual attached assets; an older installer is not this candidate.
Use independent references and knowledgeable engineering review before relying
on results. Report reproducible issues with anonymized diagnostics. See
development disclosure, platform instructions
and license. SPIKE is provided AS IS, without warranty or guarantee.
SPIKE 0.3.12-gamma.1
SPIKE 0.3.12-gamma.1
Gamma community prerelease. Numerical and release-qualification reviews remain
pending. This is not a production-qualified or stable release.
PCB-focused multiphysics, from board to complete assembly. This release integrates
the current first-party development work while preserving each solver's actual
implemented, approximate, experimental, external or unsupported status.
Included development
- Clean and Classic interface layouts, context quick tools, searchable commands,
sentence-based setup workflows, editable/resizable and detachable panels. - Named Solver Manager entries with domain/provider/status filters and explicit
setup routes, including bounded electrical, thermal, fluid, magnetic,
structural and circuit workflows. - Versioned material evidence, part/board/layer snapshots and read-only FreeCAD
material exchange; reviewed placement feedback retains its existing limits. - Bounded finite-radius rectangular sheet and flex folding previews. This does
not fold an imported PCB's copper/components or create a folded solver mesh. - Current solver-suite and SPIKES Studio integration development, with capability
and validation evidence retained in the source documentation. - Windows embedded-frontend packaging and worker/native producer integration.
- Community links and PCB-to-complete-assembly product scope documentation.
Important limits
General arbitrary-assembly multiphysics, universal large-model GPU acceleration,
automatic material-law integration, arbitrary sheet-metal unfolding and fully
qualified folded PCB analysis are not established by this release. Optional
external engines must be installed and admitted separately. The CAD air-complement
mesher for assembly OpenFOAM CHT remains a pinned Windows development runtime;
it is not a portable packaged assembly-CFD capability. The bundled native cavity
reference remains a separate, bounded experimental solver.
Pending knowledgeable human numerical review, independent physical validation,
dependency redistribution review and clean-machine acceptance are not replaced
by automated tests or a Gamma label. Check the attached verification record for
the exact checks performed and skipped for these artifacts.
This is an unsigned Windows x64 preview. Other platforms are not refreshed by a
Windows-only build. Do not infer new Linux/macOS validation from older downloads.
No private model collections, quarantined upstream example corpus, generated
working output or redistribution-uncleared fixtures are included in the reviewed
release source selection.
Save and close engineering work before installing. Keep backups and verify
results independently. SPIKE is a work in progress, provided AS IS without warranty
or guarantee. Development is largely LLM-driven under human direction. Original
SPIKE material is Apache-2.0; third-party material retains its own terms.

SPIKE 0.3.11-gamma.1 - Gamma community prerelease
Known desktop packaging issue (14 October 2026): The original Gamma1 installers were built without Tauri's
custom-protocolfeature and may show “SPIKE development frontend unavailable” instead of loading the embedded UI. The earlier process startup/close check did not establish frontend readiness and missed this fault. CLI/worker checks remain separate. A local corrected desktop has now reached the main window with the frontend server absent; replacement public installers are not yet published. Use the previous release until corrected installers are available.
SPIKE 0.3.11-gamma.1 - Gamma community prerelease
Gamma warning: numerical and engineering reviews are pending. The owner explicitly authorized this prerelease with that limitation. This software includes unreviewed, experimental and approximate implementations. Automated regression results do not establish physical accuracy or engineering qualification. Do not use these results as the sole basis for safety-critical decisions, production hardware approval, compliance certification or design sign-off. Independently verify results against suitable measured or established reference data. Instability, incomplete workflows and incorrect results are possible. Back up projects before installing and avoid replacing a working production toolchain with this preview.
Development included
-
MCP/SpiDeR modern and legacy protocol support, discovery, typed tools, installed schema resources, bounded queries, normalization and revision comparisons.
-
Board-linked Studio circuit extraction and explicit electrothermal/geometry feedback interfaces. Full standalone Studio launch remains a source/separate-runtime workflow; it is not a new bundled native Studio installer.
-
Desktop, multiboard, selection, studies, probing, shortcut and control improvements.
-
PI/SI AC losses and roughness workflows; assembly EM, machine/actuator, CFD/CHT and transient development with each operation's own admission requirements and validity limits.
-
Published 0.3.10 shutdown and unsaved-work protections retained while integrating newer worker/update routes.
UI availability does not imply solver qualification. Optional external engines, solver binaries and private or redistribution-uncleared model collections are not bundled. Source examples with established licenses retain those licenses and notices. No KiVi source has been imported under the instance-only grant; schematic support uses the independently implemented KiCad CLI adapter.
Package and evidence
This is an unsigned Windows x64 Gamma preview. Linux and macOS binaries are not refreshed in this release. Build, frozen-worker, installer and source-check results are recorded with the actual final artifact; any untested branches remain explicitly unverified. Pending numerical and dependency-review queues remain pending; this is not a signed production-qualified release. Checksums identify the downloaded bytes and do not certify accuracy.
Development is largely LLM-driven under human direction. SPIKE is provided AS IS, without warranty or guarantee. Original project material remains Apache-2.0; third-party material retains its own terms.
Checks performed for this Gamma build
-
130/130 declared frontend regression suites passed; TypeScript, parser, architecture and 415 public-document checks passed.
-
26/26 native C++ regressions passed with the trusted generated OSDI fixture modules enabled; 64 native host tests passed and 1 existing live-GPU test was ignored.
-
The 3,778-test Python baseline initially failed because isolated fixtures/packages were missing and the version assertion rejected prerelease names. All affected modules subsequently passed 76 focused tests after restoring local-only fixtures and repairing the version/test harness contracts; the unchanged full suite was not repeated. 139 baseline skips remain disclosed.
-
Both frozen workers passed smoke/integrity checks; 8/8 source-versus-frozen runtime checks passed. 94 CLI help surfaces and modern MCP tools/schema resources passed in the packaged worker.
-
The NSIS-extracted desktop and 2,498 worker files matched build/integrity identities. Extracted desktop startup and normal main-window close passed on the build host using a disposable profile.
These are automated/build-host checks, not clean-machine acceptance or independent numerical validation. Clean-machine install, offline network isolation, upgrade/uninstall, supported-window visual review and accessibility-tool acceptance remain unverified. The installer is unsigned. Prefer the EXE for the usual Windows setup workflow; MSI metadata uses numeric product version 0.3.11.1 while the application/release remains 0.3.11-gamma.1. Native PEEC field kernels are built for AVX2/OpenMP.
Attribution metadata correction (2026-10-18)
The owner approved correction of historical work-account attribution to wayri. File trees and existing installer assets are unchanged. Commit IDs and generated source-archive checksums changed, and affected old commit signatures were invalidated. Existing clones must reconcile with the corrected remote before pushing.

SPIKE 0.3.10 - Windows community preview
SPIKE 0.3.10 - Windows stability delta
Desktop shutdown
- Closing the main workspace ends the whole native application, including its
detached report, result, probe and assembly windows. - Unsaved main-project Save, Discard and Cancel decisions are preserved. Failed
or canceled saves keep the workspace open. - An assembly draft that blocks closing now has a visible Review draft dialog
that restores its tool window instead of only changing status text. - Worker shutdown runs outside the UI event loop, cancels lightweight and heavy
requests, rejects new work and uses bounded resident-process cleanup. - An unresponsive renderer now has native close recovery with an explicit
unsaved-work warning. Repeated requests and stale dialog responses cannot
bypass a recovered workspace save guard. - Windows installer verification requires the installed process to exit after
a real main-window close. A forced cleanup does not pass that gate.
Controls, navigation and search
- Application menus support keyboard opening, arrow navigation, Home/End,
Escape dismissal and focus restoration. - Universal search excludes unavailable actions, preserves editor shortcut
ownership and IME composition, and keeps focus inside its dialog. - Closed search skips board/net ranking; empty search stops after its first
fourteen available entries. This avoids scanning large inventories on every
unrelated workspace update. - Project, benchmark, SPICE, stackup and thermal dialogs gain keyboard focus
containment and recovery. Hidden/disabled controls are skipped. - Shared button styling is enforced for interactive test fixture entrypoints.
Repeatable stability gate
Every declared frontend test suite runs through npm run test:ui-stability with
bounded timeouts, checkpointed results and a failing exit code on regressions.
Source CI uses the same gate. Test harnesses have been repaired to reflect
current module boundaries, without dropping their behavioral assertions.
Read stability coverage and
close recovery. Automated contract checks and selected
native interactions do not certify every menu/runtime state, external engine,
screen reader, or numerical model.
Scope and downloads
This unsigned Windows x64 community preview is based on published 0.3.9 plus
scoped desktop lifecycle, controls, search and verification changes. Numerical
solver implementations are unchanged. Optional external engines are installed
separately. Linux and Apple Silicon downloads remain at 0.3.5; Intel macOS is held.
Development is largely LLM-driven under human review. This remains an early
preview with possible defects, instabilities and incomplete behavior. Please
report reproducible issues and feedback. Numerical results retain their stated
model assumptions and validation limits.
SPIKE is provided AS IS without warranty. Original project material remains
Apache-2.0; third-party material retains its recorded licenses.
Attribution metadata correction (2026-10-18)

SPIKE 0.3.9 - Windows community preview
SPIKE 0.3.9 - Windows community preview
Assembly viewport and controls
- Orbit rendering follows display refresh during gestures; quality restoration waits for the motion to settle.
- Harness conductors use shaded cable geometry, depth occlusion and individual-wire picking. Cable radius and curved paths are presentation assumptions, not measured insulation or solver geometry.
- Compact icon controls retain mini labels, accessible names and tooltips. Assembly help explains navigation and command-line structure edits; the verification window uses a collapsible placement/display inspector and side rail.
- Rendering fixes cover occurrence culling, clipped picking, laminate alignment and occurrence-bound thermal overlays. No numerical solver implementation changes are included relative to 0.3.8.
Downloads and scope
This release provides unsigned Windows x64 NSIS installer, with SHA-256 checksums. Optional external engines are installed separately. Linux and Apple Silicon downloads remain at 0.3.5; macOS Intel remains held.
Development is largely LLM-driven under human review. SPIKE remains a very early community preview and may contain instabilities, defects and incomplete behavior. Please test it and report reproducible issues. Results retain their stated model assumptions and validation limits; UI availability does not qualify a complete coupled multiphysics workflow.
The newer numerical development candidate remains separate pending its required human review. These installers are built from published 0.3.8 plus the scoped rendering/control changes.
See assembly CLI workflows, viewport policy, and solver status.
SPIKE is provided AS IS without warranty. Original project material remains Apache-2.0; third-party material retains its recorded licenses.

SPIKE 0.3.8 - Windows community preview
SPIKE 0.3.8 - Windows community preview
Windows x64 installer and SHA-256 checksum. Linux and Apple Silicon macOS remain
on v0.3.5; Intel macOS is held.
Changes
- Independent copper, solder-mask, silkscreen and board-body visibility and
opacity in single-board and assembly views. Imported layers stay active;
partial exports keep complete retained copper. Shared materials and combined
copper meshes are separated by layer before batching. - Resolved 3D components replace their stand-ins permanently. Copper controls
do not hide component models or change their opacity. - Canonical net selection and highlighting stay scoped to each board occurrence,
including imported numeric net identifiers and retained connector pin maps. - Movement controls include rotation rings alongside translation arrows.
- Embedded PI, SI, Thermal and EMI study results appear directly in Results with
one-click validated display. A file chooser is offered only when a result is
absent. Stale or rejected results show a recovery message. - Thermal/SI study switching clears stale drafts. Automatic connector and field
reads are serialized, and repeated startup effects share one pending read. - Multi-board planning distinguishes validated plans from completed analyses.
Arduino and Raspberry Pi carrier/HAT walkthroughs document supplied reduced
PI/SI/Thermal models, results, provenance and limitations.
Verification and limitations
Publication requires source checks and the clean Windows packaging workflow,
including frozen-worker, installed CLI/runtime, reinstall, desktop startup and
uninstall checks. Focused regressions cover imported layer boundaries,
occurrence identity, retained results, asynchronous admission and study switching.
No numerical solver implementation is changed from the human-reviewed 0.3.7
release. Reduced coupled-study values do not establish distributed SI,
full-wave EM, spatial board temperature or engineering qualification.
Native interaction acceptance is distinct from installer/startup checks.
Generated third-party CAD packages remain local and are not release assets.
See Windows installation,
multi-board studies,
layer verification and
solver status.
Development disclosure
SPIKE development is largely LLM-driven under human review. This is a very early
community preview and may contain instabilities, bugs and incomplete behavior.
The community is invited to test and provide reproducible
feedback.
The Windows installer is unsigned. SPIKE is provided AS IS, without warranty;
publication does not establish production qualification or independent physical
validation. See LLM development and

SPIKE 0.3.7 - Windows community preview
SPIKE 0.3.7 - Windows community preview
This candidate provides a Windows x64 installer and SHA-256 checksum. Linux and
Apple Silicon macOS remain on v0.3.5.
Intel macOS remains held.
Verification
The clean Windows build
passed frozen-worker, installed CLI/runtime, reinstall, desktop startup and
uninstall checks; Rust checks passed 38 tests with one ignored.
Source checks, the
production frontend build and focused UI regressions passed. Historical local
fixture/cache failures were resolved and all 70 tests in their affected modules
passed. Required human review was confirmed before preview publication.
The installer SHA-256 is
26905e80b9e428c703c41b8b7b5a5b3a2ee0f95d9ab4128a8d7993711002681e.
Detailed native interaction acceptance is separate from desktop startup checks.
Changes
- EM chamber content fills its reserved viewport row. EM controls use a compact
toolbar and minimize to the bottom tool shelf, with a separate restore action. - Saved angular radiation patterns without an explicit origin are anchored to
the board antenna. Explicit physical origins retain their original coordinates. - PI starts with unassigned nets and no default source or sink. Unassigned
terminals do not float at the coordinate origin; terminal context menus support
deletion, with project history retained. - The Python workspace adds a movable, resizable editor, visible run state,
stop controls, readable syntax and dedicated output actions. - Completed scripts can show admitted physical geometry, fields and plots in the
main viewport. Closing the script view restores the board view. - Optional external EMerge examples have a pinned source manifest and retained
upstream license. EMerge remains a separately installed runtime.
Setup and limitations
See Windows installation,
Python and EMerge integration,
PI setup and solver status.
The ESP32 saved radiation example is an approximate surrogate; pattern radius
is a visual amplitude scale, not an observation distance. These presentation
changes do not establish antenna convergence or full-wave accuracy for a PCB.

very early community preview and may contain instabilities, bugs and incomplete
behavior. The community is invited to test and provide reproducible

SPIKE v0.3.6 - Windows community preview
SPIKE 0.3.6 - Windows community preview
This release provides an unsigned Windows x64 installer and its SHA-256
checksum. Linux and Apple Silicon macOS packages remain available in
v0.3.5. Intel macOS remains
held pending completion of platform checks.
Changes
- Layer controls follow the focused board. Each occurrence, including local
duplicates, retains its own visibility, opacity and quick layer preference
through.spikesave/open. - Multiboard 2D highlighting uses SPIKE teal and the exported board outline to
align source artwork with net geometry. Hidden source layers no longer cause
an additional fallback board image. - The separate assembly workspace contains the production board viewport,
separated 2D layout, physical 3D placement, fitting, navigation and assembly
handling controls. Startup reads are sequenced before connector discovery. - Entering EM or reviewing results no longer opens the chamber automatically.
Chamber display is an optional saved presentation setting. - The Python editor adds incremental syntax rendering and guarded editing
actions. Explicit external interpreters can use the installed SPIKE SDK and
bundled extension resources. - Resource staging preserves the source configuration and excludes local
caches. The default local installer path stages resources after worker build.
Verification and limits
The release uses the Windows packaging workflow, which checks the frozen worker,
CLI commands, silent installation, reinstall, installed desktop startup and
uninstall before emitting the installer. Source checks and focused UI,
persistence and resource regressions are required before publication.
These changes do not qualify solver accuracy or promote experimental assembly
models to full-wave analysis. Missing source component models can still appear
as footprint placeholders. See solver status,
multiboard workflows and
Windows installation.
Early release and development disclosure
SPIKE's development effort is largely LLM-driven under human review. This is
still a very early community release and may contain instabilities, bugs and
incomplete behavior. The community is invited to test and provide reproducible
feedback.
SPIKE is provided AS IS, without warranty or guarantee. Independently check
inputs, assumptions and results before engineering reliance. The installer is
unsigned; publication does not imply production or physical qualification.

Release evidence
- Source commit:
4148b80b02dbcb6cad24fabdbafcd7effe50a715. - Windows build and installed-package verification: passed.
- Source checks: passed.
- Local full Python suite: 2,586 tests run, 59 skipped, no failures. Rust: 38 passed, one ignored. Focused UI, resource staging and installed-runtime verifier regressions passed.
- Windows checks include frozen-worker validation, CLI execution, silent installation, reinstall, installed SDK and extension imports through an external Python interpreter, bounded script errors and timeouts, desktop startup and uninstall.
Interactive visual verification remains partial. The real Arduino UNO R4 and relay shield assembly opened in native 2D and 3D before Windows locked. Post-fix detached-window interactions and narrow-window visual acceptance were blocked by the lock screen; those checks are not reported as passed. This community preview invites testing and reproducible feedback on these workflows.
