Windmill tags and releases

Hello,

The rapid development behind Windmill is really awesome: almost every day, there is a new tag published. Makes it hard to catch up, but progress is great.

I am unsure what to do about production though. Sure, I can pin a single tag, but what then if 10 releases down the line, a security update is published. Will I need to slurp up the 10 releases with their changes just to get the security patch? What if there are changes that break things, or too many changes for me to vet them all? Will I need to cherry-pick my own branch?

Is there some concept of a stable release which doesn't receive any updates other than critical ones?

Is this something worth considering?

Hi,

We do not do breaking changes (or at the very least they're kept to minimal very minor items). Your production setup won't be disrupted by doing an upgrade.
We don't apply security fixes to past release, you will have to take a more recent release.

There is no stable releases, all our releases are stable, you can pick the strategy that fit you most, keep using main, pin and update every week, every month, never.
