• memo search all finds messages by meaning too, once it can (cli-core 0.435.0). It looks up the 100 messages nearest in meaning (e5-small over each message's own vector, every account it reads) and fuses them with the word hits into one messages list before the merge with mail and notes; each item's found_by says which search found it. Without the model or the vectors, messages are read by words as before and the answer says so: a Messages by words only: … note in the terminal and a found_by entry in missing with --json and MCP, naming memo models download e5-small or the messenger's conversations rebuild. --exact, and a query with NOT or with a filter under OR or in a group, stay words only. A search never downloads a model or sends text anywhere.

• cli-core 0.435.0 moves the shared store to version 34, which keeps an index for search by meaning (sqlite-vec, shipped in @wirecat/cli-core-sqlite 1.1.0). Once memo, or any WireCat CLI on cli-core 0.434.0 or later, has opened the store, memo 0.108 and older refuse it and ask to be upgraded, so upgrade every WireCat CLI together.
