Crash when binding `std::vector<std::thread>` #190

Good morning everyone,

I realized that when trying to bind a class with a std::vector<std::thread> member, the build crashes with the following trace:

I'm guessing it's because nanobind does not have an equivalent for std::thread ?

Using Homebrew clang version 16.0.2
Target: arm64-apple-darwin22.4.0
Thread model: posix
InstalledDir: /opt/homebrew/opt/llvm/bin

Can reproduce simply with this class :

class Test {
    public:
        Test();
    private:
        std::vector<std::thread> mProcess;
};

and the minimal binding:

nb::class_<Test>(m, "Test").def(nb::init<>());

Does this work with pybind11? std::thread is quite an unusual element type to use here.

Could I ask you to debug a big on your own and contribute a PR? In this case, probably one of the if constexpr blocks in bind_vector.h is a bit too loose.

Ah wait second. You are not even exposing that member, right? So STL bindings don't have anything to do with it. I think the issue is that your class is not copy-constructible, which nanobind doesn't pick up.

FYI the difference from pybind is because pybind doesn't try to instantiate a copy constructor unless the type is returned from C++ to Python (because it might be needed there depending on the return_value_policy). nanobind does the analogous thing when the type is first bound, which reduces compilation time, but means a type that "looks copyable" (to std::is_copy_constructible) but fails when you actually try to copy it will cause an error like this.
