Status lights: AirWriter starts up with a rainbow wave across the panel, not the spin round the test button; the startup GIFs redrawn
Pages start with their first paragraph: GitHub already shows each page's name as its title, so the heading repeating it showed twice
Supported Printers: drawings from the printers' own manuals, each printer's own install disks, one cartridge per line, and Yes* for printers not yet confirmed on paper (W-1101) Drawings are cropped from owner's guides, setup guides and brochures and cleaned to one look (grayscale on white, 4:3); three printers with no usable manual picture keep a Commons photo. The AirWriter column moves next to the printer's name, since cells no longer wrap and the table scrolls. Adds the Asia-only LaserWriter 10/600 A3+ and a line on the Japanese -J models. Refs: W-1101
Supported Printers: every Apple printer and the common third-party ones, with photos, supplies, years, ports, Mac drivers and whether AirWriter prints to each (W-1101) Third-party rows are the printers that come up most on 68kMLA and TinkerDifferent. Drivers link Apple's own download.info.apple.com files where Apple still hosts them. Photos are Wikimedia Commons, credited on the page. Linked from the sidebar, Home and Printers. Refs: W-1101
The settings page's new wording: TashTalk flash errors, the chip's card, DIP switch 4, and the status names Offline and The last job failed (W-1100)
Printers: the Share over AirPrint switch by its name, and the Start page switch (W-1100, W-1099)
American spelling, and the AppleTalk port by one name (W-1100)
Printers: a page for every printer, and the rest rewritten from the reader's side (W-1088)
Home: an LQ with a colour ribbon should print in colour (W-1087)
Home: the original ImageWriter and the LQ should work too; colour with the colour ribbon
LocalTalk Chip: the AppleTalk Port card says when the chip is missing, and flashes a blank one
Thank Tashtari for TashTalk on Home and Vintage Macs
Settings page: one layout for every section, ordinary controls, new footer The page's firmware section now holds installing from a file, the address sits under printer with copy, auto-update is a checkbox, the cable section's test key offers flash only when the chip needs it, and the footer shows Wells Workshop, GitHub and Donate. Any crossover cable works, not only Apple's: Home, Setup, Troubleshooting and Test Button say so, and the Troubleshooting heading is now "The cable must be a crossover".
Settings: the ribbon on the nameplate, the blue noise halftone, and a halftone pick needs no restart
Status lights: the measured palette, Setup's blue double blink, pink updates, four LocalTalk stripes
Status lights: asleep is one dot breathing, a new dot each breath
Cable test: the answer along the bottom between the ports, and what it says with no LocalTalk chip
Lights: every effect now peaks at full brightness
LocalTalk Chip (TashTalk): the 3D render of the chip going into its socket, in place of the flat drawing Rendered from the shop's own models of the board and the PIC, with the chip lifted clear of the board and dashed guides down to its socket holes.
LocalTalk Chip (TashTalk): draw the socket empty, as a builder finds it, with its notch toward the ESP32-S3 module
LocalTalk Chip (TashTalk): a drawing of the board showing where the chip goes and which way round Drawn from hardware/airwriter/airwriter.kicad_pcb (rev A), front, ports toward you, with a close-up of the socket: the notch goes at the right-hand end, toward the ESP32-S3 module.
LocalTalk Chip (TashTalk): what the chip is, fitting a blank one, flashing it, and what the panel and page say Linked from the sidebar, Home, Vintage Macs, Settings and Updates, Status Lights (with the failed-flash GIF) and Test Button. Settings and Updates no longer says the localtalk section shows only with the chip fitted: it shows on every AirWriter.
Status light GIFs: rounded corners, truer whites
Factory reset: the power-up reset goes back to the last firmware that printed
Status lights: a GIF of every pattern, on Status Lights, Troubleshooting, Test Button and Setup
Status lights: what the panel shows while AirWriter is doing things; tap again to cancel a test page
Settings and Updates: signed updates from GitHub, auto-update, building your own
Cable test: tap test with a cable in SERIAL and LocalTalk; the green and red answers
Factory reset and LocalTalk printing
Owner docs: setup, status lights, DIP switches, test button, settings and updates, troubleshooting, vintage Macs
