WSO2 Agent Builder v1.0.0-beta1
The first beta of WSO2 Agent Builder is a stability release. It fixes issues found in the alpha releases in evaluations, agent runs, configuration and Copilot.
Bug Fixes
- Evaluations: The first test or evaluation saved in a project without a
testsfolder is no longer lost. If a save fails, the error now shows in the form. - Agent Run Nodes: Adding an agent run node for a second agent no longer calls the first agent.
- Agent Chat Errors: When an agent run fails, the chat now shows the error message from the agent service instead of a generic "Internal Server Error".
- Configurable Variables: Editing a required configurable variable (for example,
configurable int x = ?;) no longer reports its own name as already used. - Copilot With OpenAPI Specs: If you already attached, linked or pasted an OpenAPI spec, Copilot now uses it to generate a connector instead of asking you to upload it again.
- Project Folder: New projects are now created under
~/WSO2AgentBuilderinstead of the WSO2 Integrator folder. On macOS, the path now shows the real casing of the folder on disk. - Publishing to Ballerina Central: Pushing library packages now picks the correct
.balafile. - Ballerina Updates: Update Ballerina on the cannot-start screen now installs the newest 2201.14.x patch release.
- Security: Third-party dependencies are updated to fix reported vulnerabilities.
Improvements
- AI component pickers (model providers, vector stores, embedding providers and others) now open instantly instead of waiting for Ballerina Central.
- The Copilot prompt box on the welcome screen now supports plan mode and attachments.
- The overview page no longer shows the duplicate breadcrumb and the topology legend.

WSO2 Agent Builder v1.0.0-alpha2
WSO2 Agent Builder v1.0.0-alpha2
The second alpha of WSO2 Agent Builder builds on v1.0.0-alpha with MCP server publishing to Agent Manager, a reorganized project explorer for AI components, a Copilot focused on agent building, and an updated platform (Ballerina 2201.14.1, Integration Control Plane 2.1.0, Ballerina extension 6.0.0 line).
What's New
- Publish MCP servers to Agent Manager: MCP servers built in Agent Builder can now be published to a connected Agent Manager instance from the Deploy panel, alongside agents. The Deploy panel shows the publishing status and any errors.
- Drill-down creation dialogs: Creating a dependency from inside a form, such as a knowledge base and then its vector store from an agent tool, now stays in one dialog with a breadcrumb trail instead of stacking modals. Parent forms keep their unsaved values while you drill down.
- Copilot focused on agent building: Copilot in Agent Builder is scoped to AI agents. A request for a standalone workflow is offered as a durable agent instead, and a plain integration request points you to WSO2 Integrator and proposes an agent-based alternative.
- Request headers in AI chat services: The
chatanddecisionresources of an AI chat service can now accepthttp:Headers, for example to authenticate the caller. Configure it from the resource's edit panel. - Simpler agent forms: Optional agent properties (tools, max iterations, verbose, tool loading strategy, parallel tool calls) are grouped under Advanced. AI components in the component picker are shown in nested groups with a drill-down list.
- Prompt editor fixes: Backspace and Delete after a table no longer fail, full row and column selections can be deleted, tables cannot be inserted inside tables, and the expression editor uses the input background color.

Create and deploy agents directly from the IDE, and configure Agent Manager MCPs for use with Copilot to manage your Agent Manager instance.
- Revamped Offline Evaluations UX: Offline evaluations can now be accessed, created, and edited on a per-agent basis, making it easier to manage and evaluate individual agents.
- Copilot-Assisted Evalset Generation: Generate evaluation datasets (evalsets) with Copilot to streamline the offline evaluation setup process.
- Copilot-Assisted Evaluation Fixes: Use Copilot to help identify and fix failures in offline evaluations.
- Bug Fixes and Improvements: Includes various bug fixes and improvements to enhance the overall experience.

WSO2 Agent Builder v0.4.0
We are excited to announce Milestone 2 of WSO2 Agent Builder.
What's New
- Agent Overview Diagram: Get a visual overview of your agentic integration, showing how triggers, agents, and their connections come together.
- Durable Agents: Build agents that can participate in processes that pause and resume, wait for external events, involve people when necessary, and recover from failures without losing progress.
- MCP Server Support: Create MCP servers from scratch or generate an MCP server from an OpenAPI specification.
- Agent Manager Instrumentation: Set up instrumentation to send agent traces to Agent Manager for improved visibility into agent execution and behavior.
- Knowledge Bases as Tools: Add vector knowledge bases using your own embedding provider and vector store, or use a knowledge base hosted on the WSO2 Integration Platform, and make them available as tools for agents.
